Notre "Sweet Retreat" a été rénovée avec amour pour vous offrir une escapade parfaite, ainsi qu'à quiconque a le privilège de vous échapper. Nous sommes situés à 9 maisons de la plage où vous trouverez des eaux calmes et calmes, ce qui en fait un endroit idéal pour vos petits et une promenade paisible au coucher du soleil sur la plage. Votre temps à la plage peut être suivi d’une promenade dans le charmant centre-ville de Cape Charles (pour le dîner, l’achat de votre souvenir de vacances et un arrêt pour une friandise au magasin de bonbons).
Notre maison dispose de 3600 pieds carrés d'espace pour que votre groupe et vous-même puissiez vous étendre et faire une pause entre balades à la plage, balades à vélo et cuisine savoureuse. Le rez-de-chaussée comprend deux espaces de vie, une grande salle à manger et une cuisine entièrement équipée pour vos repas de groupe, une ½ salle de bain, une buanderie et une petite salle de jeux avec table de baby-foot. Au 2ème étage de la maison principale, il y a 3 chambres (2 King et 1 Queen - toutes neuves) avec chacune leur propre salle de bain. Le 3ème étage est idéal pour une soirée pyjama adaptée à tous les enfants. Dans la partie arrière de la maison au 2ème étage, il y a deux chambres à coucher (1 lit queen et 1 lit superposé) et une salle de bain complète partagée. Une nouvelle douche extérieure a été ajoutée ce printemps (2019). Des chaises de plage et des parasols sont fournis. (8 chaises et 2 parapluies)

House was perfect for our three family vaca. Ages ranging from 72 to 22 months. Very well stocked, even with things we aren't used to seeing in a rental! Beds were comfy, rooms were great size and the extra fridge came in handy. Would recommend this house to everyone! We love Cape Charles and loved staying at Sweet Retreat!

Everyone loved the house. It is charming and in a wonderful area not far from the beach. We would come back! The only issues we had were minor. First, there is very little closet space that isn't locked. Second, the top (3rd floor) bedroom had flimsy mattresses. Because only 2 of us were up there, we doubled up the mattresses and it worked out fine. Additionally, there was no body wash or soap up there in that room. We'd say that room is best for children. There are 3 beds with trundles beneath them. But, again, these were minor issues, and we still give the house top ratings and would come back.

We had a wonderful vacation. The house was perfect for our 3 families. We had 5 kids ages 1-5 and the house had everything we needed. It was a very short walk to the beach, and a short walk to the Main Street and playground. The house was clean when we arrived and the hosts were quick to respond for any of our questions. We would definitely stay here again if we had the opportunity!

We loved the beautiful, old house with all of the necessary modern conveniences. Plenty of space for multi family, multi generation comfort. Evenings on the front porch were magical and we loved being able to walk to the beach. Perfect vacation ♥️

We had 7 adults and 4 children (ages 4 - 8), the house was perfect!! It’s such a cool old house. Everyone had their own bed and bathroom! This was our third year vacationing at Cape Charles and the first time we were out of the gated neighborhood. We rented golf carts and since we were so close to everything, it took no time to get to where we wanted to go, beach, play ground, brewery, ice cream, all the fun places.
We did reach out to the owners once about extra blankets and cornhole bags, they responded really quickly and got us what we needed within a few hours. This was one of the few houses that had parking in the back off the alley, which was perfect, since we had 4 vehicles.
The house has everything you need, except beach towels, don’t forget those like I did. LOL We did a lot of front porch sitting, set up the cornhole boards in the front yard, kids had fun playing on the foosball table, cooked lots of great meals in the kitchen and ate together in the huge dining room, played games and hung out in the comfy living rooms. I hope your group has as much fun as we did!!

This is our third stay with the Dail family at one of their Cape Charles properties. All stays have been rated 5 stars and this most recent stay was no different. We do not bother looking at other rentals as this owner is consistently in communication prior to the visit, always has a very clean house, and is easily accessible if needed during the stay. I have no negative comments and encourage you to rent one of the Dail properties. You will not be disappointed, they are top notch.

We loved it from the moment that we entered.
My husband and I were celebrating our 60th wedding anniversary. Your home allowed our entire family minus one grandchild to be together. The front porch was in constant use and the location gave everyone the freedom to do what they pleased. The week was almost perfect.

Best Beach for Toddlers
Sweet Retreat is the perfect house for families with children. It is very kid friendly and has plenty of space. My 3 year old grandson loved the bedroom on the third floor since it had a "secret passageway." The beds and furnishings were very comfortable. It was nice having 2 living areas since my son-in-law had to work from home a few days. This house is ideally located near the beach and park. It is definitely a "Sweet Retreat!"

We loved our stay in Cape Charles and the house was amazing! We were on our annual family girls trip, but unfortunately half of our group had to stay home due to illness. We were still able to enjoy a quiet getaway and all of the local attractions. We can’t wait to return with the rest of our group.

This house has everything you need for the perfect stay. Charming, well appointed, clean, and perfect layout. We will be back and highly recommend Sweet Retreat to those looking for a place to stay in Cape Charles that’s close to the the bay and blocks from historic downtown.

We take an annual trip to CC and this is the second time we have stayed in this home and we were not disappointed! It’s a great house, plenty of room for two to three families to spread out, close to the beach and town, well stocked with everything you need. We will definitely rebook in the future!

Loved our stay here. Great house, very clean, plenty of room. Kitchen was well stocked. Great location close to the beach. Wish it came with a golf cart, but other than that, we loved it and will go again.

We were a big group of 12 and the house was great. We loved the location and the size of the house. It was fully equipped also! So many rooms and bathrooms and even TVs! We had a few small things but I called homeowner and he fixed everything ASAP! Will definitely stay again!

Couldn’t have had a better vacation home! House was absolutely lovely & just perfect. Owner was superb, answered questions immediately & actually replaced washer/dryer within hours when the washer acted up. Would recommend this time & time again!!!! There isn’t one complaint & 1,000’s of compliments on this house/location. Can’t say enough good things!!! 💖💖💖

We had such a wonderful stay. Everything was as described in the listing. One thing I think is helpful to mention about the bedrooms set up is that there are 2 wings to the house. The first wing you go up the main staircase and find both the king bedrooms (one has a large master bath with tub, one has a normal sized bathroom with tub), one queen bedroom (with a small attached bathroom - shower stall, no tub), and continuing up the stairs to the top you find the awesome bedroom with 3 twin beds and bathroom attached (tub). For the second wing of the house, there is a back staircase off the back living room that goes up to 2 bedrooms and a shared bathroom: the remaining queen room and the bunk bed room. The shared bathroom has a shower stall, not tub. It’s a great layout, and I wanted to share that so others can plan in advance. We loved the amount of bathrooms and tubs, as bathing young children was a daily part of our vacation. Highly recommend this property, it’s so close to the beach! I recommend bringing an extension cord for charging your golf cart if you’re renting one and planning on bringing/buying water as we found the town water at all properties we’ve rented in Cape Charles to be pretty undesirable (comes out of the tap cloudy and from one faucet a little bit brown).

Great house.
We have been coming to the area once per year and will definitely seek this home to rent again. Perfect location. The house was clean w great charm. Along w having tons of space. The only flaw I can see if not having a fenced yard for the dog and kids but this would not stop us from renting in the future.

Perfect size and location
We had ten people (adults and teens) and it was the perfect size to relax, cook, and be together (with space to be apart too!). We loved the distance to the beach and town. Sunsets were amazing!! Cape Charles is a perfect family beach town. We hope to be back!

Agree with others' comments on how nice it is that house has a back and front area so that if you're with a big group, you can still find time away in different pockets of house if needed. We were there with younger children so really loved the big front porch to hang out on as well as all the different games and books in the house. It's located on a nice quiet street and short walk to beach. The owners were incredibly kind and responsive with any questions that cropped up. Great, spacious and well kept home and we enjoyed every minute of this escape.
