Great location just 25 minutes walk in to the town centre - free on site parking - a very warm welcome at reception - spotlessly clean throughout - we asked for a quiet top floor room which was provided albeit up some narrow quite steep stairs - the room was small hence slightly marked down in terms of comfort but fine for a short stay - we would definitely stay at The Verve again

There wasn't much to like....from the moment we arrived there was no where to park and we were told to double park so we parked off site......people were outside our room smoking when we entered the room and the shouting, phone calls, smoking, drinking continued throughout the night until 6am when we needed to get up the following morning. What did we like? checking out was the most enjoyable thing.

From the most terrible stay in a hotel in my life (genuinely) and surely the worst 18th birthday trip for my daughter not only were we terrified for our safety from the language and threatening behaviour and shouting and banging and swearing but there was just ZERO support from the staff the following day. The man asked why we didnt call - but the walls were SO thin you could hear every word of every conversation even when they did talk and not shout so we were to fearful to call but I did email twice during the night to log the behaviour and everything would have been on the CCTV camera outside the rooms yet...there was no help. IT was as if we were in the wrong. Totally disgusted and shocked and also with the lack of support from Booking.com aswell!!
