Kitchen was well stocked with everything you would need pots, pans, condiments, coffee, espresso machine. Bathroom stocked with soap, towels, washing machine, etc… beds were cozy. Views were truly stunning. Hill behind the house was great for sledding in the snow, owners left sleds for us to use. Roughly 30 minutes from Waterville Ski area and ice castles. Owner was very good with communication and instructions. Driveways was sanded and plowed when it snowed. I honestly have nothing negative to say. Great getaway. Thanks :)

Great house and great location! Will come back again next time we go to Newfound!

The house is wonderful with lots of extras. The AC was appreciated during a hot week. The patio was great to sit out on once the sun went down. It was nostalgic to faintly hear the boys camp up the street at night. Great area to explore on the bike. Close to Plymouth and Bristol but had no reason to leave the lake.

Finding a vacation home that will allow a dog is no easy task. This was a great place to stay. Beautiful view and ample sitting space outside. The listing was mostly accurate- but you should know that AC/mini splits have been installed (wonderful!) and towels and sheets were indeed provided. We don’t believe the house is professionally cleaned. It was tidy but not super clean. My 70yr old mom was able to walk up and down the path to the beach but it is quite steep and you will be out of breath, especially in the heat and carrying beach stuff. But the beach was lovely. The golf cart was a great solve. Driveway is easy to miss off of the main road/highway but easily fits 4 cars to maneuver in and out. Plymouth is a 10 min drive one way and Bristol is a 15 min drive the other way. Recommend checking out the Polar Caves with the fam/kids. Thank you to the hosts for allowing us to stay.

We have been vacationing at Newfound lake for years and this is probably one of the best spots at the lake! It’s quiet and set back from boat traffic, a perfect spot for kids to swim and play in the sand. The neighbor was a delight to talk with as well. The walk from the house to beach area is quick. My kids enjoyed running up the incline path to the house. The house itself had everything and more! Spectacular views! We spent most of our vacation time using the outdoor patio table and lounge area when not at the beach and a huge lawn for kids to play. Top notch kitchen and beautiful paintings of newfound lake scenery. The host was very friendly and quick to respond to any questions. We can’t wait to go back!!

Our family enjoyed a long weekend here. The well located house overlooks beautiful newfound lake. The private beach was lovely - we spent lots of time swimming and kayaking (we brought our own). Tons of lounging area indoors and out. The property has a beautiful well manicured large yard and a few bird feeders. I very much enjoyed sitting outside every morning sipping a hot Nespresso listening to the chirping and watching the water. The newly remodeled kitchen was fully stocked. Our only complaint was the strong smoke smell. Not cigarettes or cigars but a strong Smokey fireplace scent most likely due to the large amount of ash sitting in the fireplace (enough to full an entire trash can). Our noses got used to it after a day. The house could also use a good deep dusting. Overall we really enjoyed our time here and absolutely would come back again!

The house was beautiful, maybe even better than the photos suggested. Enjoyed the outdoor patio just about every day.
Thanks for the great stay!

Had a relaxing long weekend watching the snow fall and relaxing by the fire. Very communicative host and a fantastic home with everything you need!

We had such a nice stay. The house has stunning views of the lake and mountains. The kitchen was well appointed and the living room was perfect for cold winter nights of games by the fire.

Great and kind hosts. Very nice place. Gorgeous views. Thoroughly enjoyed stay. Walk to the private beach is charming.

A lot of other reviews focused on the walk to the beach. It is about a 2 to 3 minute walk down a wooded path...so dogs don't go to other properties is my guess. To an almost private beach. The next door neighbor has a dock which abuts the property. Luckily they were not there. Only negative is after a long day relaxing on the beach you walk up a slight hill....to a great view. Host was very responsive and helpful.

Just an ideal spot on the lake -- we loved the walk down to the water to our private beach (unless the neighbors were there, but they are very friendly--we enjoyed spending time with them) and the lounge chairs on the patio with an awning where we could watch the lake and the sunset was my favorite spot all week. And a beautiful kitchen, nice shower. We've stayed other place on Newfound Lake and this was the nicest! It was a perfect spot for a family vacation! We hope to be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation at the lake. The house was great and the location perfect.

The house was just as described. Lots of space for 3 adults and would have been comfortable for more. Being up on the hill provides a great view of the lake, although it does mean there's a bit of a hike down to the actual beach. It was not a problem for us but would be a challenge for anyone with mobility issues. Of course, they'd be able to enjoy the view from one of the three different outdoor seating areas or the picture windows in the living room (with tons of comfy seating). Marianne was a great host, available to answer questions as needed. The kitchen was surprisingly well stocked, except for a lack of mixing bowls or measuring cups, but nothing we couldn't work around, and a great supply of spices and pantry items.

Very nice peaceful spot. The walk to the lake was a bit far but we got used to it. The beachfront was perfect. All of my boys loved the cove and it was nice to be away from all of the boat traffic while swimming. We would recommend this vacation home.

This is a beautiful location! It was great to have our own little beach area and quiet bay where our pup enjoyed swimming for hours! Great kayaking area as well. Great yard for grilling, watching the sunset and listening to the loons calling.

My family stayed here in 2009 and will be again this year. The house itself is very big and you can't beat the view. The beach is very nice and the water was always clean while we were there. The house has Direct TV which is a huge bonus when you have kids. The big sell for us was that we were able to bring our cats. I have not been able to find a place this nice that does the same. Things I liked the most about this place would be the view, the space (while it sleeps six adults, you aren't cramped at all), the large grassy backyard and the TV. I'll say what I didn't like (I'm really nitpicking here) would be the poor internet connection and no AC. Even without AC though I slept comfortably every night with just a fan.
I would gladly recommend this house to friends and can't wait to go there in a few weeks!

My family and I have been coming to Newfound Lake for over 25 years and have stayed at a half-dozen places in all and this one was great. The view from the patio is fantastic. The accommodations are very comfortable and very tasteful. This was our first time at this end of the lake and we loved the quiet location.
After staying here for a week we all agreed more time was needed.

We stayed at this vacation rental last summer (2008) and came back again this summer (2009) because we loved it so much. The property is on a very scenic lot, with mountain and lake views. Although there are neighbors on all sides, they are a reasonable distance away. The attractive landscaping provides a great deal of privacy. We were concerned the first summer that it might be uncomfortably hot without air conditioning, but there was always a breeze from the lake, so it stayed comfortable. This year it was the same. We kept the windows open and enjoyed the fresh air. The view across the lake with mountains in the background is so wonderful to wake up to when you stay in the master bedroom. When you are out in the back yard, just 110 yards to the southeast is an unobstructed view of the historic red barn of Hillside Inn. There is DirectTV with DVR service so that we could receive 200+ channels and record programs when we were out. The internet connection was not working at the house so we drove down to the Newfound Lake grocers to use their internet cafe (free of charge). The lake is wonderful for swimming. If we wanted a change of scenery, we would drive to the beach at Wellington State Park. We love this vacation property and plan to rent again next summer.

My fiancée and I had stayed in this home for a period of one week in the summer time. Prior to us giving in our deposit, we had asked several detailed questions as to how private this home was, as it related to the proximity to other homes. We were told that this home was away and secluded from other homes. Upon our arrival, we were disappointed to see that there was a full-on community on this lake. Not a single picture shows, however, the neighbors are on each side and only about 15ft away. In addition, there is a new community located directly on the water. There was a private path to the lake for this home, however it was a small inlet of a beach, and the water there was a tad dirty, as opposed to being directly on the lake. One neighbor had fireworks going for the whole weekend- it was not 4th of July- and it scared my dogs tremendously. Also, we were unable to find the internet anywhere, and nor was there any cooling - AC- in the home for our summer stay. The TV’s, vicars, DVDs, are old and outdated, remote controls to be found nowhere- for the TV or DVD. For those that are looking for a somewhat of a technologically/modern/ somewhat of an up-to-date secluded stay, away from others- for some privacy- this is not the place for you.
