Totally enjoyed our stay. Rental was beautiful and spacious. Full filled our expectations and wishes.

It is a spacious home with multiple gathering places. We enjoyed our stay.
3.0 / 5.0
The location and layout of the house were good for our party of 15 and the property manager was pleasant enough.
The cleanliness of the house was not great. As mentioned in other reviews, there were big cobwebs in the large windows, dust covering the ceiling fans, the appliances were old and dirty. The comforters on the bed were "dry clean only" and extra blankets were to be returned to closets after use, which led us to believe they probably don't get cleaned between each guest.
We also didn't receive a contract on this (non-refundable) stay until two days before, which included a long list of expectations and things we were to bring ourselves, which I've never encountered in another short-term rental before, especially at this price point: bring your own towels (beach AND bath), laundry soap, extra paper towels and toilet paper (you're limited during your stay), toiletries (no shampoo/conditioner provided), don't sit on comforters, etc.
We try to come to Bear Lake every year and I would not choose to stay at this or any other property managed by this company again.

Our group of 15 loved this property! There was room for all and the kids enjoyed the loft space. The yard was a great addition and we brought games to play on the grass and deck each evening. Views couldn’t be better and the location was prime for running into town for dinner or a raspberry shake. Would stay here again!

We were so disappointed with this property. It was filthy. The internet would not connect. Garbage from previous guest on the ground. Stained sheets. Every soap dispenser was watered down. Toilets were dirty. Dusty, dead bugs, cobwebs, and grime from not being cleaned. We were shocked at what we paid to stay at this property and how dirty it was. We told the rest of our family to stay home. We left the property early because it wasn’t comfortable being at a dirty home.

great place, close to sking and snowmobiling. our kids had a lot of fun inside and outside of the cabin.

The rental process was easy, even for someone technologically challenged. We were walked through every step of the way.
The home was very comfortable for our large family, with plenty of beds, and plenty to do.
The only negative part was the owners felt they had to limit our toilet paper usage to one roll per bathroom per day. When paying that much for a place to stay, it seems ludicrous to try to control our bathroom activities. We didn’t use all of our “allotted” amount, but we had a good laugh about it every day.

Had plenty of rooms and beds for our group of 18. All the kids stayed upstairs in the loft - which they loved because they never stopped playing pool.

We loved staying at this cabin. Great vista of the lake and close to everything. Close to Marina as well as many of the eateries and great walking/bike paths. The host made sure we were well taken care of and check-in went very smoothly.

This property was filthy!
There were cobwebs large enough for a bird or bat to get swallowed up in, in the large windows facing the lake! The bedding smelt like it hadn't been laundered in months.
I was called hours before I was to arrive and asked to bring my own towels for 11 people. Then when I got there I was asked to sign a new contract stating I was to bring my own towels. The house was so dirty and unattended to that my husband tripped over a vibrator left in the master bedroom.
The railing was rotten and unable to be used....another huge problem for someone needing assistance up and down the stairs!
VRBO SHOULD BE ASHAMED TO HAVE THIS PROPERTY AS ONE OF ITS LISTINGS!

First of all, Joyce is amazing and very responsive. If you call, she is quick to answer.
I rent from homeaway about 3 to 4 times a year.
Pros:
-Location, location, location. The beach is so close.
-Good size.
-Loved the deck. The chairs are all reclinable and rock.
-The little playground was a plus.
-Joyce sent over Bear Lake raspberry jam - which was amazing.
-Enough bathrooms for everyone.
-The kitchen was well equipped except for plates and cups.
Cons
-We have never been required to bring our own towels. We did not know that this was the case until the morning of. Joyce did bring us all the towels we needed with one phone call. We did bring our own beach towels, though.
-Not as clean as I expected. The upper windows have cobwebs. The tops of the fans and lights need Dusting.
-We did not have enough plates and cups for our group.
-The main floor rooms are quite toasty in July. There are swamp coolers that you add water to. They just didn't help enough over night. The basement is quite cool and even the loft has an air conditioner.
- The check out expectations are more than we have ever had. I expect to load the dishwasher - but not to empty it, so I handwashed everything and put it away.
- I expect to start a load in the washer, but not to get it into the dryer and another load started.
-I have never heard of not sitting on a comforter.
-The dish soap is watered down, so we ran out quickly and washing greasy dishes was difficult.
-There were no full-sized glasses for water-only little plastic cups.

The cabin and surrounding property were beautiful. The view of the whole valley was stunning. The location was very convenient and easy to access. This was a wonderful getaway experience.

We enjoyed our stay. Very spacious, the description really does a great job of outlining the property. A good value, nice, but not the Hilton so you are comfortable bringing children. Considering the cleaning deposit we feel like it should have been cleaner, also, having the dishes washed and put away before leaving is a bit difficult.

I loved it here. My only complaint is the property doesn’t have a central a.c system and the only fan is on the top floor. When you pack in quite a few bodies into this East facing house, with the sun and big windows, it heats up fast.
I would totally do this again though. Joyce was awesome to work with, the cabin was really nice, and I love bear lake. I would definitely stay here again plan on making bear lake an annual trip.

We liked the property. It is very close to Garden City and had everything we needed. Shows some sign of aging.
Policy to bring your own bath towels is inconvenient if coming from far away. We had lots of contact from property manager while we were there about various things from trash bags to appliance replacement which isn’t ideal if you are wanting privacy and seclusion but she is nice and professional.

There was enough room for our family with beds and bathrooms for everyone. The kitchen was small for a house that fit 20. There was an earwig infestation in the basement which we alerted the owner to. The cleanliness could have been better- lots of cobwebs in all the windows. Also, the amenities listed were inaccurate. Would not stay here again.

The property was very nice. Lots of room, outside deck and covered patio below. It wasn't as clean as I would have liked. Lots of cobwebs in upper windows. Master bath/shower fixture was not secure. Overall we had a great stay and hope to return.

Cabin has a great view and location. Kid friendly with the playground and grassy area. Was disappointed when we arrived and it smelled like someone had been smoking at the entrance of the cabin. The listing said it was a “newer cabin” and I’d say that wasn’t the case. (There were no reviews when we booked so we had nothing to go off of!) Some dishes weren’t clean either and we had to clean them before using. That was frustrating but the view and location are top notch!
