We have stayed here several times on our way to Kent as usual the hotel and staff were excellent

We stayed at this hotel because it was part of our journey to the West Country. Delicious dinner and comfortable rooms.

After parking and walking all around the building in pouring rain, I tried to check in @ 20:30 to be greeted with the system is down so I cant check you in. I asked how long has the system been down to be told about an hour and no idea when it will be back up. She kept mentioning that its the same with other hotels to which my reply was I dont care about other hotels. I have had a long day and I just want to chill in my room and send off some e-mails. System eventually was back online but I wasnt told about this and by the time I went back to the counter there was a long que for about 20mins waiting. There was no priority into who was being served and the people who just came in got served !
Terrable attitude and customer service.
I tried to to complain but was told becuase i booked through expida I have to go through that chanel.

Yep no problem, all what you’d expect, decent service, food was fine, the hotel is in very good condition with decent amenities.
Biggest plus for me was the selection of beers by Double Barrelled Brewing which are a local company. Truly excellent beers at a reasonable price, for a hotel.

Room was clean and tidy, we had a fold iut bed for the kids, duvet on that didn't cover the bed, we asked for a second duvet for the kids. It took 2 times of asking for this to come. Breakfast was buffet style and was good. Sunday was busy and needed more staff on. All staff were pleasant and helpful. Room wasn't very well sound proofed, could hear people upstairs and in the corridor outside.

Waitress service was a little slow but besides that very happy with my stay. The walk to your room can be quite far so if you have a walking disability, ask for a room near to the reception/restaurant. Car parking is £5 per day.

Excellent hotel. Staff were really friendly and really couldn’t do enough for you. All staff were excellent with the kids especially the lady who checked us in, the gentleman who was seating us at breakfast time and the gentleman on reception Saturday morning. All were very friendly and helpful and really made my daughters weekends. Thank you. The girls also appreciated the free hot chocolates and sweets each day and we appreciated that they ate free for our whole stay.

Great value, comfortable hotel, that felt more luxurious than I'd gave expected, given what we paid. Great service from every staff member we met. A bit stretched on service in the restaurant when we went, but very good food. Breakfast was smashing.

Not so good experience. Room was really hot. Aircon was not working. Fan was given with no effect. Couldn't sleep till about 2am. Bathroom/toilet does not have any air vents, so all the heat and smell circulates back to the room. Requested for the aircon to be looked at on Saturday and was told maintenance did not work on a weekend, I thought that was surprising with it being a hotel.

It wasn’t so much that the hotel was dirty, just tired and old looking in places. It wouldn’t deter me from staying again as the front of house staff were some of the very best I have encountered. So enthusiastic, helpful & professional.

We spent two nights in this hotel and our entire family were able to rest very comfortably. The staff were very friendly and give us instructions clearly. The beds were comfortable and decent size for the price.

Gym good if small. Check in process brilliant with good comms on the voucher offers. Room clean common areas clean but a bit tired.
No such the eco standards are truly embedded, simple things like separating cereal boxes from plastic inner was not in place although the air con goes off at midnight!

Very attentive staff despite arriving on a busy Saturday evening. Clean rooms, nice food with great service. Parked round the back so don't panic if no parking at the front. Booked family room which was on first floor - but no lift so tricky with baby buggy. Also room was quite warm and AC didn't work, but saying that I would book here again and was happy with this hotel.

Upon arriving at the hotel staff member on the desk was helpful gave us keys to room, upon arriving at the room the hadn’t been cleaned from the previous guest towels on floor/beds not made, hotel quickly moved us to another room which they said was an upgrade but was no different really to the room we originally booked other than a fridge! they had to send someone up to make up the sofa bed for our son which took 20-30 minutes which wasn’t ideal as he just wanted to go the sleep as we’d have a long car journey and it was nearly 10pm

Praachi, Zee, Richard, Roy, all gave great customer service- they provided a level of service which I experience when I am abroad on holiday- smiling faces and helpful and praachi is funny too. Bollywood !

Prachi on reception was very welcoming and efficient explaining everything well. The room was very comfortable and spacious. The breakfast options were really good and all the other staff were friendly. An excellent stay on our journey.

Everything else is great, my own suggestion after staying here multiple times now is to please invest in trolley and preferably a porter if you are going to attract more family stays. I am regular visitor of both Reading branches & honestly tired of having to carry / pull individual lagguage at your properties. I'd be a massive tick in the box honestly.

Check in was great. The staff member was very nice and made us feel at home with complimentary drinks. room was clean and tidy. only downside was the noise, sounded like someone was running a marathon in their room upstairs til the early hours and it was very loud from a group of lads in room next door. With young kids that was a nightmare trying to get them to sleep. I did call down to reception to address this and would told it would be looked into but nothing seemed to change.

Awful- two nights in a row fire alarm and full evacuation- all due to certain ‘guests’ abusing the facilities and not considering anyone.
Staff at hotel powerless to do anything about it.
Offered a 1 night refund- what about the hours of sleep and shock we experienced continually?

Well we was in the hotel for two nights and on both nights the fire alarms went off at 2am and was very upsetting because we was asleep and got woke up it was terrible and on checking in the staff informed us that there might not be any hot water in the rooms from 10am -4 so that very annoying because there never let us no of that and on travel down all the way from Scotland it was not what you won’t to ear that you might not have hot water in your room so I am not very happy with my stay
