The worst hotel stay I’ve ever had. 40 minutes at reception before someone showed up to check me in, then when I got to the room it had broken furniture, the bathroom light was broken, and tv remote was hidden somewhere (later found by housekeeping). The room was noisy whenever other rooms turned on their water, and I woke up to bites all over me (presumably bed bugs). I wouldn’t stay here again or use this chain again on the same basis.

The staff was rude

I swam took a bath, shaved frint bavk under tge belt. Open dide door got it dark and unleashed it indfolded. Great neighbors had a good night til morning

For the price , we got pretty much what we paid for. Both bed spreads were stained…and one was torn. There were NO cups or glasses in the room. One wash cloth, one hand towel. Two bath towels. No Kleenex. One vending machine was not working. No sign to let you know.

The shower didn't work. The whole place needed repainted. The tv didn't work. The breakfast consisted only of breads, cereal and waffles. There was no fruit, juice, yogurt, eggs or protein. The staff complained about the owner and how cheap he was.

Needs some new furniture, drinking glasses, do not disturb sign. Bathtub was badly chipped. It was a place to sleep.

Do not stay here. The entire hotel is dirty and outdated, and our room was gross. When we first walked into the room, it smelled musty but the AC was really low so we thought maybe it was just humid while we waited for the AC to kick in. There were multiple burn holes in the comforter and a black stain on the sheets. The shower and sink were rusty and crusty. We didn't spend much time in our room thankfully but when we came back to the room it smelled like pee. My husband ended up smelling around and deciding someone likely peed inside the AC unit. The rest of the hotel was gross so we didn't bother asking for a new room, we just spend that night with the window open and AC off. At checkout (a Sunday at 9:45 am) I was going to inform staff of the issues we had but no one was at the desk so we dropped our keys and left. Whoever is running the hotel obviously pockets the money made and doesn't put a cent back into the place so it's a dump. We brought our suits and wanted to swim but didn't want to risk a skin infection. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Room was clean, but very old. Blankets and carpet stained and worn out. No facial tissues, no water cups, no refrigerator, VERY small pillows. It is inexpensive but I will pay more to stay elsewhere on my next visit to Des Moines. The breakfast consisted of cereal or a waffle. No hot water or tea at all. Front desk was not helpful at all. They just said wait until the next morning to talk to a manager!

My stay was just to arrive at night and sleep, but there were some very noisy guests. They woke me up twice at 2 am and 3 am. In the almost 4 days I was there, my room was never cleaned. Not even a change of towels. I had to demand dry and clean towels.

I would stay here again.

Had a very weird smell to the property soon as you walked in, our room was still dirty had stuff sleeted on the walls and no room service unless you switched rooms

I did not stay, I CANCELED MY RESERVATION, PLS REFUND ME, I CANCELED IT, THE HOTEL DIRTY, SMELLING

Breakfast did not have any fruit, bagels or muffins...or. hot water for tea. There were no cups or glasses in room 109 and no tiisues. The bedspread had stains and the easy chair is filthy and needs cleaned.the bathtub had rust stains. Desk chair is torn in several places. The back of the hotel has not been mowed in months and needs landscaping work. The positives were the price, pets are allowed and the fragrance in the hotel.

I asked for a wake up call for 8 AM and never got one so I missed free breakfast and had to pay $80.00 deposit that will be returned to me but not for 2-5 days....

Clean nice pool

One of the very worst hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The woman at the front desk was totally rude and unprofessional. Once we arrived in our room, it reeked of pot, so they put us across the hall!! Seriously??? I would never stay at this hotel again!!

Spacious room. Good bed. Otherwise bare bones.

We paid for two queen size beds and the beds were definitely not queen sized - they were doubles. Sheets had tears in them. Room had a strange smell. The restaurant next door was very loud late into the night. The TV had a large stripe across the top third of the screen that was burned in and never went away and blocked the show.

I was itchy the whole time. Not sure what fabric the blanket was made out of but felt like planter foam. The place was just gross.

Walls were thin. Pillows were uncomfortable.

I didn't like it. I stayed after driving 400 miles and I was exhausted. It was late, after 11:00 pm, too late to switch

I do not like to leave negative reviews but in this case I wish there had been reviews for me to read. We only paid $71 per night with an Expedia promotion and for that amount I guess it was OK. But if I had paid more than that, I’d have been very disappointed. Mediocre breakfast with no fruit or yogurt. They did have a nice waffle machine. And coffee available in the lobby AlI day. I calle ahead the night before and was told that there were microwaves and refrigerators in every room. But the room we were assigned did not have a microwave. I’m guessing we could’ve been moved, but I didn’t discover it until we were all unpacked and settled in and just didn’t wanna mess with it. Bathroom tub needed to be re-caulked. A big chunk of the tub was missing showing the metal underneath. Also, there was no way to use the luggage rack to get the luggage to your room as there was no elevator and you had to walk up 1/2 flight of steps to get to the main level or down 1/2 flight of steps to get to the lower level. And then just small things were a miss. Like some brackets on the drapes were missing so that the drapes didn’t quite cover the window. No coffee pots iThe front desk staff all three days we were there was extremely helpful and pleasant. I felt bad for the young man one day as some unhappy customers were really abusive and yelling at him For something they were not happy with. He stood there and politely stayed calm, but tried to explain It wasn’t anything he had control over.

I had a late check-in, but everything was great when I got there. They even gave me an upgraded room for the same price, even though I was checking out that morning. Nice simple breakfast with the waffles, cereal, etc., available. Location is good to get on to the highway.

I couldnt mak it and i couldn't get a refund for the room and so i lost out on 96$ dallers.. and i not happy about it...when someone dont make enough money but try to make ends meet..

Location was convenient, close to Drake U. Breakfast was very poor. Not enough towels in my bathroom. A deposit of $100. Person at the desk, very limited English. Will not go back to that hotel ever.

Was a safe quiet nights stay

Hotel was dirty, difficulty checking out. Felt unsafe. Cancelled second night stay.

When we first checked in, the employee was not interested and was rude. After we arrived in our room, we started to unpack and that is when we noticed something crawling across the bedspread. It was a small white worm. Then we found food remnants left by the baseboard of the bed. The smell in the room was awful as well. We had planned to stay for two nights and instead turned in the keys and left. This was a bad experience and I have traveled across the country and stayed in many hotels.

The room we were given, by the manager, had not even been cleaned. The beds were just slept in, sheets all over and it smelled terribly.

Was sufficient for my stay the property is in need of upgrades and renovations. The staff isn’t the most welcoming or accommodating. The pool hours depend on which staff is working. My uncles room on the lower level had a terrible smell of urine. Our hall to our room had a smell of marijuana all times of the day. Don’t think we will stay there again it’s too bad because it’s a great location. The plus side is the Mexican restaurant next door was delicious
