Really enjoyed my time at this hotel. Excellent service, lovely staff, great food and brilliant pool area. The only thing I missed is being able to sort waste. We've all got the hang of it by now, let us do it please.
I'd absolutely recommend and would stay again in a heartbeat.
5.0
Great hotel, lovely friendly staff, there is a development on the sea front that never caused any issues. Reception staff found us a bigger room as the one we checked in first was a bit small. The breakfast choices were amazing and catered for every taste. Overall a great hotel with high standards that are expected from the Hilton group hotels

Looking like a factory resort, poor quality of food, very poor service, cocktails were like cheap stuffs you get on an all-inclusive basic holidays when you're in your 20s..
The room missed the towels and the coffee tray was empty, hairs from orevious people on the tray, no water bottle on the room upon arrival, the only nice and smiling person was at the reception (they offered us cookies upon arrival, which was nice)
The rest was just like a tourist trap big machinery...
Very noisy, full of people, poor quality of food at the self, looking like a school cantine, staffs were dragging chairs around while you eat, awful, and it was not that clean at all.
Honestly, just a deception.
No soul, no attention to details, very busy area, pool was cold, drinks were not cold enough...the staff looks like they want to escape, gym has good equipment but its tiny and narrow, and its like a basement area woth work in progress, they basically are just well located but that's it.

I loved this hotel even when it was the Dolmen . I am looking forward to when the spa and outdoor private beach club is ready next year . As I was disappointed this year that it was not finished . But overall the hotel is lovely ..

Super week at the end of August, staff were very helpful and responsive, breakfast and dining options were really good and pools were great. Room was excellent, although we didn't get the type we booked on the first night and had to move and we were disappointed that the beach club was a building site and spa not available either as this was one of the reasons for choosing the hotel and felt it was a bit of false advertising tbh. Nevertheless, stunning views, relaxing stay and despite the niggles would stay again when it was all sorted.

The room and the pools were very nice. Food was good but not much local food choice.

An amazing hotel. All the staff were friendly and very helpful staff from the moment we arrived to leaving ten days later. We all enjoyed the daily activities ran by the animation team.
Parts of Malta does need a clean up and currently there is a lot of building work going on. Would be nice to return in a couple of years to see it all finished

Modern hotel, excellent service

Room was Smokey, had to change. There is no private beach despite what it says on the website. Gym is also very poor. Not even a bottle of water in the room on arrival. No shower facilities for those who leave late in the day.

We loved the pools, would have been better if the beach area was done renovation

Was a lovely hotel. Very helpful staff. Good food choices. The only thing that bothered me was that they were playing loud music at each of the pools. It would have been noce to not have music at one of them!

Lovely hotel, great staff and overall experience. Outside building work was a bit noisy but that is temporary and will add once finished.

Fantastic hotel, superb staff and very clean. We only had breakfast there but that was superb, try and avoid the busy times though. The pools were superb, spotlessly clean, only let down by the constant noise from the building site right next door where they worked from around 8.30 till 5.30, 5 days a week!
The only other let down was that the fire alarm went off 3 times while we were there, walking us up twice.
But a beutiful hotel in a beautiful area.

Extremely slow service . Often forgotten drink and food orders . Noisy cranes right outside the pool area with lots of rising dust from builders works. We had no vanity mirror in our room so we were using the tv for a mirror to dry our hair. We did ask for a mirror but told that a maintenance man would have to put one up so we were refused this. We also asked if we could at least have an extension lead so we could use the mirror on the wall at the doorway which was to far away from the sockets . This request was also denied. Below par food in the main dining room with limited choice. Big improvements needed to get up to a Hilton standard. Disappointed with our stay and hope improvements are made .

There was major works in progress directly outside the hotel. The pool overlooked the road resulting in daily disturbance.

Overall a nice place to stay with helpful/friendly staff.

We had high expectations for this hotel but we were a bit disappointed. Renovations were still taking place and we felt that our room was unfinished. The hotel was nice enough overall but we felt that the room wasn’t as we’d expected it to be, and we also found the breakfast to be quite disappointing. The staff we great though and the location is fantastic.

As soon as i walked through the Door, the cleanliness was apparent, and with a welcoming smile at reception was acknowledged. The cleanliness and the attitude of the staff was exceptional throughout my stay, a good location, food was at a high standard, will certainly return again

The hotel is nothimg like any hilton i stayed in before it was unfinished fire alarm was going off at 1am - 2am at least 3times no door trim on floor to room which left sharp tile edge, couldnt use a double plug socket in room as was too close to dressing table, tiles on balcony was loose which made it dangerous
Asked to fix aerial on tv 3 times came didnt repair it
Cupboard above kettle so banged head on numerous occasions
Lifts out of order regularly windowsills dirty hotel was a dissapoinment for amount paid a 3 star would have been in better condition
Spa not finished was told till arrival and was also told on arrival that the hotel was card only

At the end of April, we chose to stay at the DoubleTree by HIlton in Malta, booked via Hotels.com. We picked this hotel due to the location and amenities it offered. When we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff in a nice clean new looking hotel. We'd booked a double room and entered to find it setup as a twin. Dropping by the reception got this fixed whilst we were out. Then we had no hot water, requiring an engineer to have to attend to fix and finally had a broken safe, which again required an engineer to attend to fix. These were fairly minor issues and we were happy that they were resolved quickly. However, the next day, when we explored the hotel we found that most of the amenities that we had chosen the hotel for were either under construction or closed. The following are currently not open:
- Gym / Fitness Centre
- Spa (inc Steam room, sauna and jacuzzi)
- Beach Club / Beach Access
- Casino
Hilton's website shows these are currently closed due to refurbishment / building works, but this is not reflected on Hotels.com or other booking sites (ebookers). A complaint was made to the hotel, via Hotels.com, but they will not add a note on the property details, this is really disappointing. This hotel will be a great hotel, the bar and onsite restaurant are top quality, we just wish they were honest about what was available for our stay. Had we known what was available for our stay, we would not have booked this hotel.

The hotel had recently been taken over by Double Tree Hilton who have commenced some significant improvement works to improve the hotel and its facilities.
As a result some services were unavailable including the spa and beach access.
The works did not significantly impact on our holiday and enjoyment.
The staff are amazing, Egeman on reception was very helpful and the staff in the two restaurants and bar were wonderful too. these included Rabi, Lorrenzo, Darren, Kyra, Jason, Ismail, Christine, Deosalyn and Marina.
The breakfast offer was excellent, the cakes were delicious, lunchtime snacks / meals were lovely and the evening meals were great too.
Looking forward to our next visit.

Great Hotel and certainly seems like an excellent refurbishment.

Perfect way to spend our honeymoon

The gym equipment was very old & rusted. We had a sea view suite. Although spacious, the furniture was cheap & plain. Not even any pictures on the wall. When we asked for extra towels, housekeeping informed us we were only allowed 2! When we requested an iron & ironing board, the one we received was broken. A disappointing stay for someone who is Maltese!

Really lovely room and view. Great that the sun didn’t come into the room due to the way it’s been built. Staff throughout the complexed were lovely and couldn’t do enough. The spa is also lovely. Thank you dolmen for making my stay perfect and much improved compared to my previous hotel!

Choice of breakfast options were limited with no fresh fruit juices . Fresh friut was very limited too .

Just felt underwhelming compared to what other reviews and the website said/shown. We left and got another hotel after one night. Sadly lost our on that money but we're much happier at the second hotel.

The property is not really a 4 star.I would put it down to the higher end of 3 star.
The property has this private beach area called Amazona. The hotel residents can use the sunbeds free but have to pay €40 for the Balinese beds which is daylight robbery given youhave already paid to stay at the hotel to use their facilities. This is not clear on their website.
The bathrobes are on request but also charged at €5 per robe for duration of stay to cover cleaning costs!!!!what is the difference between washing towels and robes!!!everything is extra!!! Extra!!! Not good for a 4 star hotel.

super friendly, nice clean hotel with great facilities. Seafront restaurant was worth the visit for dinner.

Overall a great stay, a couple of annoying things. The faff with collecting beach towels from the spa (which is basically underground) rather than at the pool areas and the fact that they are the smallest beach towels I have ever seen (10 euro deposit per towel too). You have to request the safe key for your room at reception (again a deposit added to room). All inclusive did not cover all the hotel restaurants which was odd and the timings of the all inclusive bar up to 11 pm only but when requesting bottles of water to take to bed after 11 they were a bit funny about it (even though they don’t replenish water in room). The buffet was as expected - I’m not a fan and we only went to breakfast once. Cafe Delos menu is hit and miss - no salads served with any form of dressing but edible. The food was ok but not great and v limited. The pool bar and animation team were great, lots of activities and very inclusive

The best hotel and food

Adequate for a week away with family. Door keys stopped working every day and some parts are in need of refurbishment but mostly, it is OK.
Breakfast time is a zoo and the pool areas are congested but nothing got in the way of our holiday.

Nice property. Not very good attitude of staff (almost all we dealt with). Slow service when we asked for it. good breakfast options.

We recently came back from a week-long all inclusive break at the Dolmen Hotel. This hotel is fantastic in many different ways - food was good (we tried both the buffet restaurant and the Cafe Delos), service was helpful, hotel rooms were a good size, pools were great, and location was close to a bus station and to the beach. However, having got so many difficult things right, I would say that the Dolmen Hotel should pay attention to the little things that make a difference. This is probably more around house-keeping and maintenance - including things like there not being bathrobes and slippers waiting in our suite when we arrived (we had to request them), the toilet cistern continually filling, issues with the doors, etc. When we raised these with the hotel, they were all dealt with really quickly, so I'm not at all mentioning this to deter anyone - this is a great hotel!! But I wanted to bring the hotel's attention to this, because these are easy things to proactively deal with, to help guests feel like things are running smoothly and easily, without issues. Overall, we were impressed, and are hoping to go back next year! I highly recommend this hotel. Also, we had a family emergency whilst there and had some really great support from most of the staff (except for one Guest Relations Manager who was really not helpful at all). But a special thank you to Darren and Alex/John who really assisted us, as well as a few others (sorry, we didn't get their names!).

We enjoyed our stay at Dolmen, and would recommend to our friends. Everything you need is within a 10min walk.
