No AC and the staff was unfriendly. Would not go back.

Nice bar a grounds. The decks good have a chair or two to sit on, though the ocean views were wonderful

The room was lacking some basics. Good view, but a bit rundown.

We left our bag in reception as we were too early to check in. On arrival back at the hotel 11 hours later after a concert there was a stronOdour in our room, even though the window was already open The duty manager came to our room and did smell a bad Odour in the room. He therefore sprayed around the room with air freshener and after 30 mins we all went back to the room and the smell wasn’t too bad, he left us a bottle to spray if we needed. We can back down to the bar for last drinks and after we came back to our room the key card would not work. The duty manager could not get us a new one as the computer wasn’t working but let us back in with a staff key. At 1.30 am we found out there were no glasses in our bathroom so another trip down to reception. During the night we had to use the spray as the small came back and kept with the window wide open all night, We reported this to reception in the morning. The stall were very professional and helpful but as there were no other rooms available we couldn’t be moved .

We stayed at the hotel for 3 days and initially happy with the location. We were given a room which overlooked the car park but it was large. With no air conditioning we had to open window but it didn’t stay open, so we propped it up with a bottle to keep it open, making the room extra noisy. The room also sat next to stairs so it was noisy when people returned. We asked to be moved, the previous night happy to pay extra but told nothing was available so we remained in the room, greeted with the noisy piping at 6am. Accepting we wouldn’t be moved we came down asking for the things to be fixed. We were delighted to be told we’d be given a much better room. Little did we know the new room was half the size of the first one, whilst the window opened it was too high for me to reach, outside a nosy generator and an sink that sounded like a drum. We could just about see the sea over the ledge, The room was so small my husband could roll out of bed take 2 steps and he was in the bathroom. We asked reception why the difference in size if this was supposed to be a better room. We were told rather abruptly we’ve already moved you once and that’s the only one available. Honest if we’d have known the size of room before we moved we might have stayed in the first room. The food was good but we were somewhat surprised to learn that we couldn’t get a coffee after 9.15 at night, machine being cleaned.

We had a delightful and restful time.

Beautiful view of the water, rooms are worm when first entered and have to open window during stay. 1st room was large when returned second room quite small.

The room was great, but when we arrived an hour early, one of the receptionists was not very welcoming. She seemed to enjoy telling us our room wasnt ready and she had no room left to store our luggage, so we had to carry it back out to the car. Not a great start, but when we arrived back the new receptionist was lovely as was the gentleman whi checked us out.

Lovely stay and great location with beautiful views of sea and Howth head

The hotel is enjoyed by a wide range of cosmopolitan travellers. A Swedish family loved the location for trips to Dublin. I Loved the friendly staff both young and mature They were able to direct us to some beautiful beauty spots in Howth overlooking a small fishing harbour where the waters were the most beautiful shades of aquamarine you will see in any part of the world. I particularly appreciated the support of various staff with providing sheets and a fan to cool our room throughout a particularly hot spell of high temperatures You will love their food. Carefully prepared and displayed with herbs. We will be back

Hotel needs renovation of bathrooms. Toilet seat was broken. Sink tap dripping. Etc.

Lovely stay at the Marine Hotel

The hotel was very nice and we were allocated a large double room with a sea view. All staff were friendly and helpful. The negative part was the large balcony area outside the room windows, this area was very dirty and had numerous black plastic bin bags full of waste stored here.

The Marine Hotel is a quiet and convenient hotel for a short city break. The price was particularly competitive when compared to the hotels in the city centre, which was still quite accessible by foot via Sutton station. The staff were also all very friendly and accommodating throughout our stay, and were able to help us book taxis etc. However, there were several things broken in our room (e.g two of the lights), and the general cleanliness of the room and leisure facilities (pool and steam room) was not great. The pool in particular was quite dirty and the changing rooms smelled strongly of damp / stagnant water. Despite its relatively small size, the pool was also quite busy as it is made accessible to locals too; even at 8/9pm, the pool was too busy to accommodate lane swimming for everyone wanting to use it. This is a shame because we specifically chose this hotel in part for its pool. Overall, I’d recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a relatively affordable stay in Dublin with convenient transport links. It’s a bit rough around the edges but it’s nice and quiet and the staff were really great.

We spent the previous nights at a different b&b each night. They're nice, but each came with one a shortcoming unique to each location. So it was great to come to the Marine Hotel where it was 10/10. Comfort, cleanliness, ease of location, scenery (water view), quiet neighborhood, and... it's Ireland, so of course the grounds were tip top! The price I believe was average as well. I arrived after the bar and restaurant closed and I ate breakfast offsite so I can't speak to the quality or price of food, but I sneaked a peek and both facilities which looked great. The building even has some years on it, but they have kept it up so well that it is well more a charm than a deduction. The only drawback was the lack of elevator for the waterfront rooms. Even with that said, all other aspects balance out to a perfect score.

Room was extremely hot upon check in and we arrived at 9:30pm. We asked the desk for a fan and they told us there weren’t any available. The windows had not been cleaned on the outside and we were on the ground floor. Bird mess everywhere that had been for a while. Customer service was certainly lacking at this hotel. Would NOT stay here again.

As someone with a speech difficulty (MND) the receptionist was super (not always my experience n hotels ) clean comfortable room- l would stay here again.

Staff was great and upgraded us due to an issue our originally booked room had. Friendly and quick with service.

Location and view of the sea

Great location with sea views and swimming pool. Good value for money and comfortable room. Enjoyed dinner in the restaurant.

The dart station was only a 5 min walk away. Perfect for transport to the Aviva stadium for events.

Shower only offered cold water. Reported to staff but they couldn’t fix and didn’t offer a different room. Cleaning staff took used towels away but didn’t leave fresh towels. TV was also on the fritz…. Room rate was too high considering all of above. Happy to be gone.

The location was great but the hotel is tired and can use a facelift. The worst part is how loud it was. A wedding happened and the guest came to their rooms at 3:30am talking loud and slamming doors. Every footstep anyone took in the room above us was heard loud and clear.

Service was poor … likely due to shortage of service staff. Room was not serviced. Room smelled Like marijuana. View and location were excellent The bed was also superior.

2 nd floor had NO elevator service and of course no one at desk told you and no one to help. Resurant (italian) was bery good, service excellent. It was convient to airport. Cab to dublin was only 25 e each way 30 min depending on traffic

It was close to the bus which allowed us to explore Towth. We were given a room with problems and had to wait one full day before they gave us a new room. Internet was flaky and didn't work most of the time. There was no drinking water in the room. No fridge either. The property is nice as it overlooks Dublin Bay.

Pretty good stay that is affordable near the airport. The property itself was a bit outdated, I felt for the staff, something was up with the systems. But, I overall give this place a great rating due to the front desk staff. They were really helpful, sweet and patient. Angela was great.
