Very dissatisfying short stay to visit Iowa state. Check in was not friendly, for some reason my room ticket or card wasn’t printed, which was odd, the WiFi connected but there was no internet at all, and no one at front desk to help the 800 number printed on the tiny piece of paper was a joke. Breakfast was cold, and had weird fried eggs, the worst the was US flag flying outside, all in tatters, very disrespectful. We won’t be staying again,

The hotel is a little older but had comfortable rooms. They could put more towels in the room or at least the hand towels by the sink. Breakfast was not bad.

We had a suite, which allowed more space. But there was no room division for privacy if needed. The mattress need replacing, rolled to one side.
There could be be more detailed cleaning. Really liked the airconditioner/heater with the temperature and fan control. We love having a constant fan blowing to provide noise control inside and out.
It was anEXCELLENT buffet breakfast, with plenty of room for seating and the food/coffee was spread out in 3 room areas. The omelets and sausage were restaurant quality. Many food choices provided.
Good location to the college campus, restaurants and freeways.

Everybody was very welcoming coming in to checking out. The breakfast was wonderful. I only had 2 complaints would be the pillows werent auper fluffy and the tv didnt have many channels.

One day of our stay the pool did not open due to us being told maintenance staff needed to check the levels and hadn't come in yet. The one day of our stay it did open, we got to the pool at 10am, no towels and they did not stock them. In our room our shower curtain was covered in dirt as if someone muddy took a shower and it never was cleaned. No housekeeping service in our room during our multiple day stay. Staff walking around on cell phones. Our door keep stopped working on our second night. We went to the front desk and rude customer service telling us its our own fault for keeping it in pocket. We didn't ask about fault or accuse anyone, only asked if room key could be reprogrammed.

This particular hotel is very convenient if you have to do anything Iowa State. It is in an area that does not have a lot of traffic and the staff is very accommodating. Breakfast is included and that is one of the main reasons I like to stay there.

Clean quiet room. Good hot breakfast with a nice variety of foods. Two minor negatives were a slightly uncomfortable bed and onky one towel left when we went to the pool. Desk never brought more. They might have been short-staffed with regard to not having ckean ones in time. Overall, we would stay again.

This has been my go to hotel choice for Ames while my kid has been a student at ISU. Service is quick & friendly. Rooms are always clean. Beds are comfy. Workout room and pool areas are great. And the breakfast is always good. Highly recommend.

Breakfast was supposed be served until 10:00 by 9:30 everything had run out and nothing was refilled, but at 10:01, the property staff walked out of the kitchen with full plates of hot food.

The hotel was clean and the staff was nice. However, the night before check out, we noticed a water leak from the ceiling on the 1st floor. The next morning, when we got up and went to take a show, there was no water. The provided no warning they were turning the water off to fix the leak. The leak of course was not their fault. They should have communicated to people staying that they were going to be turning the water off to fix the problem. My daughter was in the shower and the water went off and she had shampoo in her hair. They should have warned people so that you could have either not showered or got it done before the water went off.

We had to wait for quite a while to check in because they're wasn't staff to check us in, even after we rang for them twice. The elevator had a clicking noise and was a little concerning. The pool was so cold we could only get in halfway and the hot tub was so incredibly hot that we couldn't sit in there either. There were other guests in the pool area that were sitting at the tables and told us they felt the same way. Paint was noticeably peeling in the bathroom and our toilet kept running. My husband had to take the lid off to jiggle the flap to get it to stop. Breakfast was on the cold side, and they were out of, or running out of food while there was still half an hour left.

Every room smelled of cigarettes and we moved twice and they had all of their outside designated smoking areas right where people enter/exit the buildings. This was supposed to be a nonsmoking hotel! Also, every trash was overflowing and construction men walked by my window at 0700!

We were taking our dog to thr ISU Veterinary clinic for an examination. This motel was less than a mile from the clinic. The room was very clean and neat. We found the staff to be friendly amd courteous. Would highly recommend.

I was impressed all around. The place was super clean and the pool area was well kept and clean. The front desk folks were super fun and we actually had a few laughs! I stayed with my Grandsons and I felt very safe. The breaky waz delish! A nice spread with sausage eggs and potatoes. I HIGHLY recommend.

The hotel is beautiful, you feel like home. The room and bathroom were both clean and nothing was broken. The bed and pillows were very soft, prefer more of a firm bed/pillow but nothing wrong with them. The pool and hot tub were relaxing and weren't overpowering of Chlorine. Bonus. The biggest issue we had was the breakfast. The biscuits for the biscuits and gravy were rocks, at first we thought them to be decorations. But no, they were just hard. The ham, we assumed it was ham, was burnt. The potatoes were supposed to be fried but were more of a mush. There was cream cheese but no bagels. No sugar free options for jelly or syrup. The apples were mostly bruised. We love staying at Best Westerns but this breakfast was truly a dud.
