Great amenities for a weekend stay-love the stocked kitchen with plates, coffee, cooking stuff!!

Had to book anything as it was the solar eclipse and we were on the road. Never stayed at a Candlewood Suites before, but had to take a chance. Check in went well, but I was concerned when the doors into the hotel were not very clean and the luggage cart was filthy. However when we got to our suite it was clean and comfortable!

Travelling with dogs, this was a good spot to stay. Room on ground level. Small area for dogs at back of hotel. The room was clean & staff was friendly.

We came here to leave our house with no power. The hotel does not have generators so we are crossing our fingers that nothing happens. As I have a child and we are not interested in being with no hear.

This Candlewood suites was the most attractively priced hotel in greater Portland, but in the end, I should have paid more and stayed somewhere else. To be fair, I was in the area for a work trip but also bringing along a girlfriend and trying to impress her with a trip to Portland. This hotel did not impress her.
The staff was friendly. No question. The outside looked great. But the inside common areas signaled right away that this wasn’t the boutique hotel experience I had dreamt of. Floors needed to be vacuumed, carpet actually needed to be replaced, and lots of bagged room trash in the hallways.
The room was fine but the furniture was beat up, the bathroom was dusty and the toilet seats slid around.
On the plus side, the laundry machines were free.
I think I just can’t get over how much a hotel room costs in New England and the price was effectively telling me to expect this.
In the end, my girlfriend and I felt perfectly safe and happy getting cozy in our suite. We had a good laugh about everything else. Was this a fine place to stay? Sure. But next time, I would spend more money.

We needed a two room suite, so that was good. Staff was excellent. Rooms were clean but kind of a funky layout. Road traffic was very load. Would have been nice to have restaurant service within walking distance.

No breakfast. The door to the building was not locked, anyone can have access into the building. That’s so unsafe.

I found a dirty(feces) washcloth in the bathroom cabinet that had been there for a long time. Management didn't seem too concerned.

The fridge and the AC made a terrible noise all night long. Horrible night. No sleep.

Definitely not cleaned well: kitchen counter was dirty, and the bathroom is a bit disgusting. No counter space in the bathroom. The bed was very soft and uncomfortable. It was quite and the gentleman at the front desk was very efficient.

Unlike all hotels in a near by Portland, Candlewood is an affordable place to stay for a family. We stayed in a two bedroom suite. Plenty of space. Well equipped kitchen.

There were no mirrors in the bedrooms, no TV in the master bedroom, the bedroom door stuck terribly, i was up to my ankles in water taking a shower.

Physical plant in poor condition…..bathroom is a death trap if u try to take a shower-no handrails and the slick bottom of the bathtub makes it very dangerous to try to stand up-just waiting for a lawsuit-reported everything to management showed no interest

We had a large room with a kitchenette. The bed was comfortable. The dishwasher worked well. You had to use their pots and pans for the stove to work. It was quiet and clean. There were no hangers in the closet. Free laundry was available if you had detergent.

This hotel is, first of all, pet friendly, which is wonderful! It's very clean, the desk receptionist was very friendly and polite, and the suite rooms are very useful and comfortable for anyone traveling with dogs. One of the main doors to the building had a broken key-card reader, which was a bit inconvenient, and the door to our room had a broken chain-lock. But everything else was great: we enjoyed our stay and will go back again.

We were a group of 10 and booked 2 suites. Upon checkin they gave 2 rooms one next to each other which was wonderful. Each suite had a full functioning kitchen allowing us to cook our food. The facilities are nice and clean.

Grounds unkept....weeds everywhere, overgrown. Lobby looked like an apartment complex with boxes and leaves everywhere. Didn't even go in. If the outside and the lobby look like this, why would I trust anything else? Expedia did a terrible job of representing this property.

We booked the two bedroom suite and it worked perfectly for our family of four. Hotel was conveniently located to the Portand Jetport and we found the room very spacious and clean.

Very clean inside...and convenient to Maine Mall area, I95 and I295.
The outside area (lawn & landscaping) were in desperate need of mowing and weeding. Not sure what's going on there????

It was a comfortable and quiet stay. The rug throughout the hall way and in our room needs replacement or a good carpet cleaning. I picked this place because I could save on cooking some meals during our vacation. Front desk, JB, was very friendly and welcoming.
The location was close to highway and about 20 mins from downtown Portland.

We stayed in multiple hotels across New England on this trip and Candlewood's beds were the most comfortable beds we experienced! Such a welcome after a long journey! Lovely, comfortable, clean rooms
