It was an amazing experience! Wonderful staff, food and room! We will be back!

This property was absolutely stunning. Its location close to everything in the old city, and yet in a secluded, tranquil environment is perfect. The food was excellent and the service was top-notch. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We arrived early in the day after an overnight flight from Canada and they were so accommodating. While our room was not ready, which was not unexpected we were served a lovely breakfast. Our bags were taken care of, and when we arrived back from town, around 1:30 they made every effort to get our room ready as soon as possible. We will go back in a heartbeat and highly recommend Prestonfield House.

One of the best experiences we’ve ever had!

So extravagant, it's like walking onto the set of a Pride and Prejudice film! It's literally a service-obsessed hotel in every way without comparison. An environment of pure grandeur and comfort! An incredible collection of antique furniture, swathes of fabric wallpaper, plush curtains-the pillows are fluffy the lighting is soft and moody, and the housekeeping is second to none! Best night's sleep I've had in years! The food is unparalleled! I had a yogurt made with honey from local bees which live on the property! The rhubarb was also grown on the property and like nothing I ever tasted or will ever taste again! My son, who is a picky eater, said the salmon was so delicious, he felt like he died and went to hotel heaven! Every detail was painstakingly attended to. I made a brief mention of forgetting my umbrella, and no less than two seconds later, a hotel staff member handed me one before I jetted away in the cab they had called for me! I felt like a queen!

Totally amazing hotel, the staff especially Jennie on reception was so very nice and very helpful. The whole experience and ambience of this truly 5 Star Hotel in Edinburgh was first class in every way. We have stayed in hotels all over the world, and I would say The Prestonfield, is on par with the luxury Hotels in Dubai. It's the best hotel we have stayed in the UK. Nothing was too much trouble for ANY of the staff. Still smiling at their warmth and friendliness, they truly make you feel at home. Could not fault anything. Thank you Mr Thomson for sharing your lovely creation with us. If you do go, Jennie and the one of the managers, (whose name I forget - sorry), will give you a lovely history lesson of how the Hotel emerged into what it is today. 5 Stars all the way !! This was one of the best places I have ever stayed. Luxurious, comfortable, and opulent. The staff were so attentive and lovely. I wanted to spend all my time at the hotel. I will most likely visit again. The attention to all the details sets the bar high for every other boutique hotel. Oh and the history. Swoon and smitten!

Wonderful service from arriving to leaving. Nothing was too much trouble. Rooms very sumptuous and unlimited water, toiletries etc. highly recommend this very unique, glamorous hotel

Attention to detail could have been improved such as replacing toiletries in the bathroom and cleaning up after customers had left their drinks in the reception rooms would have merited the experience of staying in a five star residence.

I absolutely loved this place. I never wanted to leave. The service was incredible. The setting was beautiful. The gardens are immaculate and food delicious (including an amazing breakfast!) I really couldn’t fault the place…I can’t wait to go back.

TV in room had not been set up No instructions re use of room phone to correct above Didn’t see any teabags. All fruit blends Too many cushions Couldn’t get into room on return from meal. Some issue with door. Was dealt with quickly Dangerous table drape. My friend feet were tangled being unaware throughout meal. Almost fell Did not feel it was what we expected in value for price

Booked DBB stay for my wife’s birthday surprise. On arrival used the free parking ( normally valet parking not available due to Covid). Fantastic service and welcome.At the reception they couldn’t do enough for you and when explained it was my mistake for booking the wrong room style they had a look and offered us an upgrade to a suite which made it even more special for my wife.Where ever you went in or around the hotel the staff just couldn’t do enough for you.The room was amazing beyond both our dreams, comfortable, very clean.We have visited the hotel previously for a wedding and afternoon tea which were excellent. This is the first time of staying and will book and stay again, my wife was blown away with her birthday surprise.

Fantastic venue, attentive staff and the rooms and setting is just beautiful. The little touch's for our dog she absolutely loved. We had dinner here which was really great. Breakfast, however was pretty poor not much of it and very dry - no beans with a "full Scottish" and hard boiled poached egg....

A very relaxing stay. Did have to remind staff about requests we had made before stay. Almost all staff were friendly and courteous.

Another absolutely amazing stay at Prestonfield!! This hotel never fails to provide the most awesome service and comfort. Nothing is too much trouble here and you are treated like royalty whilst being welcomed like old friends. If you have the opportunity to stay at Prestonfield you should grab it with both hands.
