Hotel is so old - nothing renovated - windows old and wind is blowing in - room older than old. Price to expensive - will def not come back.

The staff were so accommodating and friendly - the room was so clean and well presented - I was slightly concerned as the images online don’t do it justice, it’s a fabulous place to stay! Highly recommend

Nice enough hotel but dated looking rooms let it down a little. Rooms are not in keeping with other Van Der Valk Hotels so lower your expectations and stay when pricing is lower and you should be ok.
We ordered three double rooms and all of them were furnished slightly differently even though they were identical and next to each other.
Biggest let down was one of the three rooms was clearly not cleaned since last people stayed. Bed was slept in, used towels on floor in bathroom and dirty toilet!

Situated in a beautiful area in Gladbeck, Germany this hotel should get a 10 star rating. A picturesque stroll along a walking path next to the hotel led us to a castle. The staff were so helpful with all our needs. The breakfast buffet is delicious and plentiful.

The hotel was very quaint. It was charming and homey. There was not much around to do though, cabs were quite expensive to venture out anywhere. The breakfast was amazing but the other meals were not so great. The staff was beyond nice and extremely helpful.

The room overall needs an upgrade(modernization) especially with the rate EUR 300 per night with a better decoration as well!

Decent hotel and, on the whole, helpful and friendly staff. Location not ideal if you’re wanting to get out and about, with taxis being the only realistic way of getting around (expensive too during Euros). Decor could do with an update but was clean throughout.

The hotel is in a very convenient location with a lot of parking. However if you intend to sleep forget it. The bar plays extremely loud music until 3 am. If you have any issues with your room after 11pm don’t bother asking reception as all that is said is they can’t help.

Hotel staff is great, room was good however they would benefit from fans in the bathrooms. Breakfast was great, lots of options. Lounge was perfect since this location is quite remote.

The hotel was great and the food was delicious, prices very reasonable and the staff are excellent. Only downside is that you can hear the road noise but only when sitting on the terrace. Would definitely recommend

Location is very natural sorrounded by beautiful trees. Room is ok. Reception staff is friendly. Food and service at the restaurant is very poor. Internet is very basic with weak signal.

On the terrace outside is the noise from the highway and railroad so loud and disturbing.
The rooms are okay, so are the breakfast and service.

We booked a double but got two singles and only one bedside table and lamp with no overhead light, making it difficult for two people to read. The TV did not work which limited the options. Both main courses were very dried out. The waiter was rude when I asked for sugar for my coffee. The first time that we have opted not to stay for a second night pre-booked.

Excellent opulent looking Hotel if travelling on the Route 2 through Germany and you need a stop over for the Movie Park. Staff very welcoming, professional, friendly and multi lingual. Booking in was very fast. Rooms are large, clean and comfortable. No tea or coffee making facility in the room and Buffet Breakfast was plentiful, (but barely warm) though that was not a show stopper due to the large choice. Overall, excellent stay and will book again. Note: If planning to drive around the area away from the hotel, it is a Green Zone area so you may need a German Environmental Badge for your car (get one before you travel using the app).
