Location was nice. AC Unit inside cover hasn't been clean for months dust all over it. Furniture a little outdated. Walls very thin. You can hear everything from the rooms around you. Hotel rooms need an update renovation.

Awesome ocean view, great staff. Parking sucks it's 3rd party and cost daily. Place is outdated just needs a new sparkle.

I’ve stayed at the Surfer off and on for years. It’s old. That’s never going to change. But it’s the cheapest place ON the beach. Parking used to be free. It isn’t anymore. Shower in room 214 (at least) was either scalding hot or cold. If you’re basically just looking for a place to sleep after being on the beach all day and going out at night, it’s the best.

A beautiful and surprising location. Inwas skeptical at first, the whole to good to be true vibe. But this place met and surpassed expectations. Great location with plenty of night life, bar scenes and restaurants just a two minue walk away!

Enjoyed my stay here! You can tell it’s an older building, but the service was wonderful. Very easy access to the beach, stores, and restaurants. Highly recommmed!

My mother is disabled Unfortunately there is only one wheelchair accessible room available. We made the room work. But the room was very tight. We had a ocean view room and my mother was not able to enjoy that part of our stay because there wasn’t enough space to get her wheelchair through to the balcony. Overall, everyone was friendly The room looked much nicer in the pictures than in person However LOCATION is amazing and the view from our room trumped all the negatives during our stay.

Never again. Made reservation months in advance and was put in a room with no beach view or balcony and no air conditioning. Just a swamp cooler for a very hot week at the beach, when I pointed out the problem I was given a small box fan to use…..Never again.

The location was the best. I would stay there again just for the area. The hotel was fine; it could use a refresh, but it was doable.

Love staying here because of the location. It's on the beach with an awesome restaurant downstairs. Steps away from the shore and an ok view of the ocean. Parking is pricey and tight, but ample. Close to other restaurants. Bed is comfortable but needs new pillows, tv, and rooms need serious updating.

The area and location was amazing , just a couple feet from pacific beach. The waves at this beach were awesome. Although the week we came was not the best, the weather was hot. Note , the hotels conditioning system was not made for this weather , as the rooms have portable AC units. So sleeping was pretty uncomfortable, just really muggy, and sweaty nights. But other than that no big issues, I wish the pool would stay open longer. Pool closes at 8 pm . Also , take note you have to ask front desk for your extra items, such as towels, irons .. etc. so don’t expect to have new bed sheets or towels every day.

Beautiful views for the price. Rooms need major update. Furniture was old and damaged, carped and bathrooms bad. You’re really staying in a crappy motel with a great view.

This is the place to stay when it’s all about beach days, and being out doors. I’m here to sleep, and wake up to the beach view. Easy access to coffee in the morning at woodys, beach walk or swim. Shops, bars, restaurants ,grocery store is all with in walking distance.

This hotel is in dire need of renovation. Location is great but everything is old and outdated. The carpet and flooring felt dirty under my feet, the mattress sits on a piece of wood, the shower is tiny, the AC unit is old and doesn’t work well. Not a great stay for my vacation. I do not recommend staying here.

Booked 2 rooms for 4 nights. This is a briny, run down beach hotel that hasn't been updated since '74,m. Perfect location, steps to the beach. The staff at this hotel were so kind and helpful. They accommodated us with any request, and were always incredibly friendly and polite. However, there were only a few staff members who seemed to be tasked with the entire building's upkeep. The rooms themselves were DIRTY. No daily room clean/towel exchange, even when asked. I ended up going to cvs and buying my own cleaning supplies to scrub the room we stayed in. (Not ideal when you're trying to vacation) Moldy/smelly fridge and ice container, hair and grime in the shower, and dust caked in windowsills, corners and light fixtures. Beds were comfy, though, and the price is right if you're going to be out bumming on the beach for a few days. It's whatevs. I'd stay again.

Great location. Excellent access to beach. Room was old and the floor where the tile is was sinking; afraid we would fall through. Bed was comfortable.

The bed and pillow were very comfortable. The linens were great including the towels, It was a few steps from the beach. That part was wonderful . Very old, maybe updated in the 70’s. Portable air conditioner that did not work well and was very loud. Dirty carpet . Musty smell. Slimy shower walls. Curtains hanging off the rod in places. I would not stay there again.

Close to the beach and fun things is the only nice thing I can say about this place. Oh, and the staff was pretty nice. The parking was expensive and should have opted for the free parking out front. Def not worth $200 a night for room condition and amenities... Think 2 star motel 6 vibe. zero luxury. The pool was nice... closes at 8 :/

We LOVE Surfer Beach hotel! We have stayed several times, and hope to be back many more. Our Allegiant gets in very early in the morning, the front desk is always friendly and helpful ( this time it was Lillian, very accommodating and nice), holding our luggage for us while we play until the room is available. Quick response to any requests. Step right out onto the beach. Walking distance to shopping, grocery store, and multiple places to eat. Great place to stay!

It was a few steps away from the beach. Plenty of places to eat and grab a drink. It was wonderful.
