Location can't be beat, staff were nice and it was clean. Hotel is very dated though and the AC units in the rooms were incredibly loud. If you are staying here heat or cool the room to whatever temp you think will hold through night and turn unit off to get a good night's sleep

We love staying at the Meadowbrook Inn! It was our 2nd year in a row staying with them. The only thing I was not happy about was that our room was on the 1st floor right behind the elevator and by the lobby so it was not quiet. I asked to be moved to the 2nd or 3rd floor, but was told there were no rooms available. I know to request what floor I'd like my room to be on in the future.

Very nice stay. Two minor things: 1. We were on 2nd floor. The elevator was out of service and we were only notified the day of our arrival by email. A small inconvenience. 2. We could hear the people in the next room through the wall.

AC extremely loud, thankfully I had ear plugs. Breakfast eggs I couldn’t handle. I eat a lot of eggs and the texture of these were weird. Pool was nice, no one in it which I loved. Friendly staff.

MeadowBrook is a gem of a property. Conveniently located with good staff, it is a great place to stay in Blowing Rock.

Enjoyed the great breakfast buffet. The only downside -- a few things in our room seemed like they did not operate really well, one of these was that the fuse blew when we used the hair dryer.

The hotel is convenient to downtown (walking), clean and friendly staff. The room was nice and the beds / pillows were pretty good.
The AC unit sounded like a semi truck driving through the room. The bathroom ceiling was old and the sound of water came from the ceiling at all hours.
The breakfast was so-so. Most of the food that should be served hot was luke warm and the food quality was just OK.

We love this place!! It is very charming and has wonderful service! It is in a beautiful little town and you can walk to shopping and Restaurants. They serve a delightful breakfast and it is not a hurried and competitive experience like what you find in other express hotels!!!! This place is unique and Truly wonderful!!

My stay was very good and the room comfortable. Nice sitting areas scattered throughout. Continental breakfast was good, but repetitive. Hot food was hot! The room air conditioner was powerful but very load.

I am a retired engineer and worked at a Hampton Inn as a maintenance man. They were inspected but still did not have the cleanliness and maintenance that the Meadow Brook Inn does. Everything was up to date and clean. There were a lot of amenities including swimming pool and fitness room. Their breakfast was the best I have had. Large selection in heated trays and other items that were unheated. It was better than I have had in a lot of restaurants. The grounds were also very well maintained, and the gardens were beautiful. It was also within walking distance of Main Street and all of the shops and restaurants. They also had a couple of ponds with ducks and complimentary packs of pellets to feed them. It was fun to do so.

1. Turn off the aerator pump in the Runoff Retention Pond and save energy, or put it on a "timer" for a couple of hours each day.
2. Reduce the hours of the outdoor bonfire to save energy.

I really liked the general ambience, the decor, the large guest rooms, the absence of noise, the breakfast, the outdoor spaces. Feeding the ducks with duck food supplied by the inn was a plus.
Problem areas for me was the internet did not work well (hard to get on, and once on, it kept going out) and the only available microwave was a small one in the lobby. The indoor pool was nice, but the water was so cold that it was practically unusable. There were problems with the elevator and it could not be accessed from the first floor. The person on duty did go up and send it down to us when we arrived. On the day we left. The elevator did not work at all, but a repairman had been called.

The room was really nice as it had a fireplace and was kept clean, but the annex building itself was old, and not that appealing. Really liked that the hotel was within walking distance of downtown.
