Ocean view room was tiny, but well laid out. Loved the balcony/the fact that the windows opened. Could hear the waves at night. Very peaceful. Sweet neighborhood too. No elevator though, the only downside.

Perfect location with a view of the sea. The room was small but really comfortable. I liked the bathtub near the windows. Shower was a wet room which I had never seen before. Nice amenities.

Drake's was a nice hotel with a clean, well-appointed and comfortable room. It is located on the main stand in Brighton and provides reserved parking (for a reasonable fee). This is a great benefit in that area where parking is crazy! The only issue is that many rooms are located up several steep flights of stairs and there is no lift. If you have issues with stairs, double check the location of your room!

Our stay at Drakes was great! You’re right on the beach and there is so much activity. You can walk to everything along the beach. The staff went out of their way to be friendly and hospitable. Highly recommend

The shower was a great idea but everything got wet like the loo roll and the toilet seat, the price of the room and not to have a view was disappointing but is what it is. Staff were fantastic couldn’t fault them at all! Would stay again but ask for a better view of the sea or even the city

The Hotel was in the perfect position with lots of amenities and walkable to most locations. The #1 room was so beautiful! It had a fee stair cases but easily accessible, two big windows sea view windows with comfy chairs to read by. The bedding had the best pillows and felt very decadent. Bring your hair net because the rain shower was straight overhead. Staff was excellent and bar was awesome! Will come again!

I was charmed by the hotel's support before and after we arrived. The room was excellent. Be prepared to climb stairs, our bedroom was 62 stairs up. I will stay here again and look forward to my future visit. It feels like a family run hotel with up-market bedrooms and extras.

Noisy air conditioning, on 2 occasions it was so loud the room was unusable; staff sorted it out but being woken at 7am isn’t fun.
Room was “instagram friendly” with a bath and aged chairs in the window, but this just took a third of the room and was of no added value.

Such a beautiful place to stay, with friendly, helpful staff. Being on the 4th floor with winding stairs and no lift was a challenge but burnt off a few calories!

I had such a wonderful stay at Drakes. The hotel is clean, you can control the room temperature, I didn’t hear any noise and slept through the night, the staff were all really friendly (even drawing out a map of recommended places to visit) and amazing views of the sea. It was the perfect tonic for the quiet weekend that I needed, I left feeling refreshed. I would highly recommend Drakes and hope to return soon.

The property was a boutique type hotel of a very good standard. The quality of bed and bedding was also excellent. Lots of high class hotel extras around the room (Dressing gowns, slippers, toiletries etc).
My only and very minor gripe was that the TV and air conditioning were seemingly very complicated to operate and the addition of some simple instructions / welcome information pack in the room would have greatly assisted.

Booked a deluxe double room, which we anticipated being a large room with a free standing bath (as shown in the pictures), but when we arrived we had an average sized room with no free standing bath. I questioned this with reception, and they said you need to specifically request a free standing bath room, and unfortunately all the rooms were taken. Seems a bit strange to offer very different rooms under the pictures shown. However, the manager did give us a bottle of prosecco by apology, and our room had a very nice balcony with a stunning view, which we really enjoyed. Drakes also wrote us a card for our anniversary, and gave free sweet treats in the room. Other than the room confusion, we had a very enjoyable stay, in a great location, with a lovely breakfast. Would love to stay here again.

Staff were so welcoming and the room to a very high standard. The breakfast was excellent. Only minor issue was the very small shower/toilet cubicle. After showering the entire room was wet and there was not a lot of privacy fir toilet use (close proximity to the bed and could see through the glass doors).

The property was lovely. Staff were very helpful & supportive. Breakfast was very good. Our room was comfortable . We had a great view. There is no passenger lift but there is a luggage lift which helped moving luggage to & from our room.

Great location and staff were really friendly and accommodating. However, the room we booked wasn’t the one we were allocated when we checked in. The room we had was very different and whilst I appreciate this seemed to be an issue with the hotels.com booking system, it was really disappointing.
The breakfast menu has no vegan option which in 2023 (and especially in Brighton!) seems so odd.
Room was clean apart from our bath which had what we thought was shards of glass all over one side of the base but it turned out to be pieces of clear plastic. Either way, it was obvious that a previous guest must have broken something and it was quite offputting to know it must have been missed during cleaning.
All in all, we would stay again because the staff were lovely (and very apologetic about the room situation) but we were overall quite disappointed with the stay for the reasons I’ve said above.

We had the superior room with the bath in the room, however, the shower was squashed into a space that was smaller than a cupboard and was shared with the toilet. Everything got wet when we had a shower…

Not a bad place, but also nothing high end. To access the bathroom I had to walk down a flight of stairs. Room had no view whatsoever. Looked directly at the roof of an adjacent structure. I would rate it at 3-3.5 stars. Staff was accommodating and pleasant.
