It is a good choice; however, consider the hotel's location. It is isolated with nothing nearby and far from any airport. Make sure you purchase the airport shuttle to the hotel in advance; otherwise, be prepared to pay at least $200 USD. It would be nice if the hotel offered its own transportation service.

I arrive in bahia principe grand la romana. First my coffee maker was not worker properly. Room was ok, dark and a hot even after i adjusted the room temperature, i had to turn on the ceiling fan. When i woke up the nxt there waz a hug cockroach on the floor.

The property was good . We upgraded to the luxury adults only side .. I didn’t like the fact there wasn’t any open places to eat after a certain time just a snack place

The service is great, however I have some suggestion regarding the hotel itself. Maybe more restaurants options and remodeling and more bedding. Mattress is too hard.

Pluses: Marmor floors in all common areas, pretty garden, beautiful beach, large comfortable room (in premium adults only section), good pools, good night entertainment for adults only. Very good senior manager Fabio, who successfully addressed all our issues. Mybe the only excellent member of the stuff.
Minuses: In all lobbies no A/C and no adequate fans, so too hot and humid. Inability to book a restaurant, all were occupied by visiting locals. Drink usually very diluted. Very old, squeaky, hard to open and close furniture. In bathroom empty house shampoo and gel, after complaints refills brought not but not installed for several days, unattached shower and broken shower and bath screens. Phone didn't work entire stay. Not informed that during out stay the hallway was undergoing renovation, dust everywhere, carpets (well deserving replacement) replaced by sticky pads w/o any warning signs. Wife had two food poisoning, stale fish and salads suspected.
Another important aspect is that after one day of heavy rain, for two days no access to water - any issues with what nearby river or other sources sewage are bringing??

Nice beach and pool. Poor entertainment and outdated rooms . We had two rooms and both bathtubs were disgusting. On top of it there is hardly hot water , almost no water pressure ( some days not enough water was coming down to switch from faucet to shower head) so it was very unpleasant to shower every day after day in the sun/beach under dripping showers. Buffet had almost same food every day and it was first time I have noticed that this place would serve previous day dinner options as breakfast next morning . overall 2.5/5 and wouldn’t never go back .

Loved the staff all were very nice & attentive !! Dislike… room had a sewer smell on & off discovered that the bathroom sinks didn’t have elbow this makes order come out. Hotel entertainment was not so great. Expected it to be more exciting. Seemed like very poorly planned. Ah pool bar needs to have more bartenders serving for soo many people they only had 1. He was outstanding and very happy even thou he was alone. Had to wait more than I wanted for a drink. Ahh pool closed at 6pm. It is summer it should be open later.

I was given the wrong room that I had paid for and requested not to mention room was dirty and smelled like mold . Didn’t get the right room until the next day . Although it was semi oven view it was at least clean and what I had expected . Staff was not friends at all no good morning or anything of that matter . The Mediterranean restaurant food was bad and rushed you the whole time . As per the Italian they were much nicer and welcoming . Kids club was nice my son had a good time .

The resort is very nice, but the staff members throughout the hotel are absolutely the best. Very kind courteous funny and happy staff. They make the stay that much more enjoyable. The food can be better but is not horrible. The room a bit dated but clean. The mosquitoes throughout the property are PREDATORS, something needs to be done to control this. It was an enjoyable adventure.

Let me start with the good, the staff was good, I know how hard they work for the money they get.
The quality of the food was bad I mean not edible. That was because of the quality of the ingredients the lowest grade. we were six people three of us got food poisoning. So bread, butter and fruits was the safest thing and that’s what we ended up eating the whole nine days we were there. The beach was the color of mud and soon as you get in you get stung by something that you can’t even see so we couldn’t swim in the ocean. The pool gave us a rash. The air conditioning would stop working. The lights would go off throughout the day.
I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to my enemies.

My wife and I love coming to the DR. The places we've stayed in, always excellent and super friendly. However, Bahía Principe Grand La Romana stands out as very far beyond exceding expectations! Just one example, if you ask for something at the buffet, you better want it, because they WILL get it for you even if they don't have it. These folks mean business when it comes to making you relax and enjoy your stay. All smiles, full professionalism. Vladimil, Kelvin Pérez, Yovanny Núñez, José Rodríguez, Christopher, Ana Todd, David Vazquez, Tania Jiménez, Víctor Ramírez… just to name a few of all the great staff, at all levels and departments without exceptions. Great facilities, but it's the people that bring it all to life.

Friendly staff that make you feel welcome. The buffet food is not good (someone in my group got terribly sick from the ice cream) but there are restaurants you can book that have much better options. It was a good stay overall and had fun.
