I am disabled and informed the hotel of my mobility difficulties, prior to my stay. I was told if I needed a soft pillow or a mattress topper I should bring my own, there are no designated parking spaces, for disabled guests and I was told if I needed to park in the overflow car park, it was only a short walk! Try a short walk with arthritis in your joints and spine! I was given a room that required me climbing 6 stairs! When I asked to be put somewhere more suitable, I was told they didn't have any other room, so basically take it or leave it. That was the receptionist Nicki's attitude, she didn't welcome us or provide details of booking for breakfast or any information regarding the facilities. I have to say, had I not been so tired, I would have tried to find somewhere else to stay. The other staff, however were very nice and one young lady even carried my walker up the 6 stairs to my room for me. I fell in the bath as there were no handrails, on the wall only on the side of the bath, however I was so desperate to bathe, as the shower was far too hot, I tried to use the bath, what a mistake. There was mould around the silicone around the bath tub. The bed was uncomfortable, even with my own mattress topper. I found sweet wrappers beside the bed, that weren't ours. There was a strange smell in the hotel, which was very unpleasant, and guest have to go through the dining room to leave, which is unpleasant for those dining.

The Dunes restaurant- food exemplary, friendly helpful waitress (only member of staff who was). Receptionists conspicuous by their absence, I’m guessing because they were covering too many other duties rather than anything els, cost cutting exercises?

Position Needs updating

Good value for this time of year. Rooms a bit dated but clean . Nice bar and restaurant area.

Staff were so friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean. Shower gel and soap supplied in the room. Ample parking. Loved the swimming pool. Didn’t get time to use the sauna but hopefully we will return and can use it then. Excellent location opposite the beach and only about 10-15 minutes to walk into town. Perfect.

Although a swimming pool is advertised I not allowed to use it as I was lone traveler When I requested a small breakfast was told staff to busy to do this

Close to all attractions, but far enough to have a peace and quiet environment to rest. Friendly staff. Free parking. Clean rooms and good breakfast. Swimming pool was a bonus for families with children. Just pefect for weekend away.

Other than the friendly staff and good food quality there is nothing positive about this hotel. The room was dated, smelled of body odour and no air on or even a fan. There were no amenities. Not even soap in the bathroom, let alone any shampoo. The shower water flow was nothing more than a trickle. There is nothing that would make me return to this hotel and I certainly wouldn’t recommend it to friends or family.

Needs a revamp

The staff were amazing, the hotel has been refurbished well and stands out from others in the town - the location is perfect for the beach and a short walk to the town centre with easy access to the promenade train if walking is more tricky. Nice pool and very good food plus parking - 10/10 all round

The staff were very helpful. Our double room was very small but adequate for sleeping in. The bathroom was clean and fresh towels every day. We did find the hotel very noisy. Lots of doors banging. People shouting and the seagulls screeching on a morning which was out of the hotels control.

Staff were all suberb, very friendly, hardworking and attentive. For value for money we couldn't fault it, we will be back.

Excellent stay from start to finish

The room was very nice and comfortable with a beautiful corner bay window with seating and a sea view. It was lovely to sit there in the mornings with a cup of tea. We made use of the heated indoor swimming pool and discovered a games room and sauna too! All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The only negative, if i had to find one, was the breakfast portions were very small for the price. Although very tasty and good quality, not enough. Would definitely stay here again.

Hotel in excellent location with the big bonus of the pool which the children love. The staff are so lovely and accomodating and great with children. Stayed before and will stay again. Thank you.

Nice enough hotel, only downside was the abandoned hotel down the road and the town itself needs some TLC

All round a lovely place to stay and in a great location. My only negative was the really noisy floor boards in the bedroom

Very nice and no complaints. The only thing I was a little disappointed in was the cooked breakfast this morning. The veggie sausage seemed cold in the middle, and the mushrooms still had the outer layer of skin on which made them seem tough to eat. The tomatoes seemed dry as if they had been standing for a while. Still, I enjoyed the hash browns and the baked beans. All other breakfasts on previous days had been fine. I did not feel like raising the issue this morning, so am glad of the opportunity to voice this now. We would stay at the hotel again in the future though.

The hotel invites you in with a bright and modern bar area, that unfortunately is where modern stops. The hotel is tired and very tight on space. The lift is archaic and the rooms as basic as i have been in for a long time. The food was ok.

We had to switch rooms at midnight as the toilet wouldn’t stop flushing an the door from the hall way banging on our door marks on the walls was moved to basic room when I paid for double room,bed was uncomfortable floor was really damaged an made a lot of noise each step inside the room. we stayed for a quite sleep as home is very loud were we live cleaning staff very loud could hear them shouting down the stairs an outside our room in the morning despite the do not disturb sign we explained this on the first night aswell why we were there,freezing cold changing rooms in pool area no hair dry or hand even hand dryer in sight even thou all over the hotel was big Signs saying do not come thru the hotel wet very bizarre
