Very nice hotel and friendly staff

The hotel is simple. Very clean. The balcony very narrow. Bad marks for the proprietor. We arrived early, expecting to be able to leave our cases and return when our room was ready, as we have done very often before. We were met by the owner, who was very aggressive, almost shouting that we couldn’t have a room until three o’clock and telling us repeatedly that our cases would be just behind a curtain and that he took no responsibility for them. This bullying attitude appeared in the ‘Internal Rules’ in the book in the room, where there were the amazing statements that if we were not out of the room by 11:00 our things would be removed, and that anyone taking food away from breakfast would be charged twice. His wife and other staff were pleasant, but typical of him, when we left he simply presented the bill to be paid without an ‘au revoir’ or a ‘Bon voyage’ or even a question whether we had enjoyed our stay. He is what we up north would describe as a misery. Despite him, we had an enjoyable stay.

This was a simple, but wonderful hotel right across the street from the beach. The couple who run the hotel were very friendly and kind. The location was perfect for spending several blissful days in La Ciotat. The interior was dated, but everything was clean and very comfortable. The rooms were quiet and have great air conditioning, too, which can not be said about all hotels in France! I wouldn't hesitate to return!

On line pictures apparently taken several years ago. In need of a remake. No elevator, balcony held on chair. Great location.

Small but everything you needed was there. Parking a real plus. The balcony was small but my wife and I had more than enough room to sit out and watch the going ons at the beach. Enjoyed staying here. Super friendly and helpful staff.

The hotel is a typical company where the owner does not invest in modern facilities and customer service up to average standards in 2018. The welcome was bad and arrogant. The receptionist said directly that the check in only was available from 3 pm. We know we arrived 1.30 and understand that rooms needs to be cleaned and for logistical reasons rooms are not ready. But it was not that. Nothing logical: it was the rule that counts. Rooms were ready but the rule is that guests only can check in at 3 pm. She told this to us with a very unfriendly attitude and the relation with her was direct negative. Positive thing is that she apologised herself during the actual check in. Thanks for that. But the hotel can have more flexible check in terms and times . Other thing is the room. As you can see on the photos very dirty and old. This hotel needs to be refurbished .ast morning we ordered two coffee. Sure I know we have to pay this. But as a gesture after the apologies for the check in situation we would be really positive surprised with a loyal free coffee. This was not the case and that is the reason this hotel get this bad review. There is no knowledge about customer service and how to get a good relation with a customer. Please re think before booking this hotel.

Amazing location by the sea/beach. Inexpensive hotel with good and simple service. A bit too much deodorant/chemical smell in the room.

Loved the location of the hotel - we paid extra to have a balcony and sea view but it was worth it. Nice, medium sized room, en suite with a bath as well as shower over. Good wifi. A safe in the room and case rack, wardrobe and cupboard for storage. The walls of our room were nicely ;painted a Mediterranean blue with a local scene painting, but the whole hotel could do with some maintenance - all the gloss paint on the skirting boards is chipped, tired stair carpet (no lift), broken base to bathroom cupboard and I wouldnt have paid the plumber who installed the sink in its lovely marble surround as he has no idea how to finish off sealant! Big secure private car park at rear. Restaurant with a good 3 course menu fixe at 17 euros.

Nice hotel with character but beeakfast was expensive and nightly cost was high for a 2# hotel.

This was a great area. The hotel was right across the beach and there were a lot good restaurants near by. The restaurant attached to the hotel was quite good as well. Everyone was very nice and the rooms were clean and it looked as though some areas were recently updated. The common area of the hotel would definitely benefit from an upgrade, but its not terrible. My only main complaint is that the bed was so firm! I am a side sleeper and would wake up several times in the night to turn because my hips would ache. Otherwise a good stay.

Excellent location. Normal small European hotel. Very small shower. Inconsistent WiFi. No power outlets at the desk.

First time and LAST time that I will stay at a rundown Hotel called Miramar in La Ciotat. I will not recommend Hotel Miramar to any of my Friends and Associates. Period. Also will call Best Western Hotels to inform them if the condition.Best RegardsEnrico Gamma

Lovely family run hotel in perfect position for beach with a very reasonably priced restaurant attached which served excellent food

2 night short break, right on the beach, loads of restaurants a stroll away, fab!

our stay @ the Hotel Miramar was very enjoyable. our room had a tiny balcony that faced the water and it was very nice to fall asleep to the sound of the surf. although i found it looking for a hotel in Cassis, it is not really in that town. but it was a lovely resort area. the fish & mussels in nearby restaurants were delicious. the only negatives were: our French was minimal & the staff English was the same - and the room was a little small. we would definitely return (hoping for a slightly larger room.)
