This was a beautiful hotel in the centre of Ortigia. So convenient for restaurants and shopping. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was delicious. The room was lovely and the air conditioning worked well. I loved this bathroom! Overall, a great stay and location. I’d definitely go back.

In the heart of Ortigia but still quiet room. Was met with modern B&B in historic but renovated place and excellent host. Loved every thing about this place. The attention to detail in all aspect, from decor to facilities, breakfast, quality of bed and pillow etc etc. Will for sure stay here again. In factc staying 2 extra days in a smaller room (1 person) which also is just as lovely.

The Maeco B and B is right at the centre of Ortigia and convenient for easy walking to restaurants, shops and all the beautiful sites that the island has to offer. We were welcomed by Alisia who was very helpful and gave us a guide to all the places to see. The next day wee met Martina the owner who was also very welcoming. The Maeco is very tastefully furnished blending traditional fitting's blended with modern things like plexiglass chairs. Our room was very spacious with a well appointed bathroom. Breakfast is a mix of pastries, cold meats cheese, bread fruit, yoghurt etc and eggs can be cooked to order. The staff are very friendly and obliging. I would thoroughly recommend the Maeco for its first class facilities and hospitality.

Excellent location in Ortigia, inside a palazzo, with a peekabo view of the Med. Beautifully appointed rooms, comfortable beds, soft, warm linens, amply sized bathroom with rain shower and excellent water pressure.
Our room faced a quiet alleyway, so despite being at the center of everything on a weekend, our room was blissfully quiet. Breakfast is lovely with homemade pastries and juices.
Parking is very difficult, but Martina and staff helped us arrange. A note that Ortigia itself is not a very accessible destination, we parked as close as was possible and still carried our bags across a town square and down a couple streets. There is no elevator, and entrance to the palazzo requires lifting bags over a door lip.

Everything around this bnb is simply lovely. The building is authentic, right there in the main piazza , the cleanliness is astonishing, and the service is beyond, owner was attentive to my needs, she agreed to serve breakfast earlier, she guided my thorough every step of check in, made sure I had recommendations of the city, she was fantastic, breakfast delicious in a beautiful dining room. Best bnb in all my trip around Italy.

Have stayed in many B&Bs in Italy and elsewhere and Maeco is one the very best. Martina extends a warm welcome, has excellent taste and runs a superb operation. The location couldn’t be better and the B&B’s modern amenities are integrated beautifully into the impressive historic building.

I had a wonderful stay at Maecò Ortigia B&B. My room was really nice, confotrable and quiet. The breakfast was terrific. Also the two women who manned the front desk were very helpful. They gave me terrrific restaurant recommendations. They also set up a boat ride around the island and a taxi to the bus to the airport in Catania.
The B&B is in a great location. It is on one of the main streets with lots of restaurants and stores. It is also very close to the Duomo and the Piazza Archimede.

Amazing. My first time here, would never stay anywhere else. Both girls at checkin area were very lovely and extremely helpful. Breakfast was great. Best possible location to be in Ortigia. Very modern rooms in historic building.

Fantastic location in the heart of old town Ortigia. Large room and bathroom with beautiful decor. Excellent breakfast with good selection of fresh, quality products. Martina was very calm & helpful when we got lost trying to drop our car so it could be parked. It all worked out in the end! Loved the communal breakfast table where we met fellow travellers from around the world. Definitely recommend Maecò Ortigia

This B&B is simply 5 stars. Its location is right in the centre of Ortigia, so perfect for dining, exploring and shopping. Quiet at night in our room despite being located in a main alleyway. Breakfast was superb & Martina (the owner) was amazing. Lovely experience

The property is in a beautiful old building and is right next to the magnificent cathedral. Two hostesses are very gracious and accommodating to our needs. Our unit for three people is very comfortable and quiet. The breakfast room is beautiful, overlooking a charming street outside. Ample choices for breakfast and they are all very tasty. We spent 3 night there and will be very happy to stay there again.

I had my doubts when I saw this place's facade and made my way upstairs to reception, but then everything changed! The place is wonderful--completely updated, modern, and spotlessly clean! The staff members, especially Martina, are very helpful and friendly. My room was spacious--at least as nice as many of the rooms I've stayed in at hotels that cost much more.

We liked EVERYTHING in our stay, it was a highlight of our Sicily trip.
1. Clean spacious room with high ceiling and window open into a quiet street.
2. Updated super-clean bathroom.
3. Beautifully decorated property in a historical building.

5. Location right in the middle of the Ortigia historical area, 2-minute walk from the Cathedral.
6. Friendly and super helpful owner and staff. They answered all our questions and made our stay pleasant and comfortable.
7. Private parking option - comes very handy in a historical city with lots of traffic and restrictions for travelers with a car.
8. Everything was well-organized: check-in and check-out, communication with private parking, etc.
Next time we are in Sicily will definitely stay here!

A delightful stay, perfect for seeing the fascinating centro storico Ortigia. Our hosts were extremely helpful and welcoming, we wanted for nothing. This boutique hotel is finished with high quality fixtures and fittings.

The room was clean and spacious and the decor was lovely. We loved the location which was close to everything. The bed was really comfortable. The owner Martina was super! She was super helpful and very charming and made us feel right at home.

Very nice place in central location. Fredericka was a huge asset/help. She helped coordinate parking which I was a bit concerned about prior to our arrival. Cost was 25 euros per day, a bit steep, but was worth it.
We should have stayed longer than one night, my mistake. Lovely around the island.

A beautiful boutique B&B with a fantastic location right in the centre of Ortigia. Spacious clean room with everything you need. Fantastic breakfast and very helpful staff who helped with restaurant recommendations etc. Definitely recommend and would love to go back.

The rooms were spacious, clean and fresh, but the entrance to the building was dirty and undesirable. Parking requires a complex shuttle arrangement and a walk. Gracious and helpful staff.

The Ritz Carlton, the Four Season…of the B&B with deep roots of history. Your hostess, the family you didn’t know you had. This is an old castle but done so so well. Spotless and clean. You don’t want to leave. However, the memories LIVES on forever and evermore!!

The B&B itself is very centrally located, making it a great choice if you just want to walk around the historic part of the city.
The B&B is inside another building and you need to take the staircase to get in. The staircase is absolutely disgusting, reeks of urine and had actual feces when we arrived. When we asked the receptionist about it, she pretended to be oblivious about it. This is unacceptable.
Do not stay at this B&B unless you want a very unpleasant experience every time you enter and leave it.
For Covid-19 reasons, the place does not serve breakfast at the moment. You get a voucher for a coffee and pastry at a cafe around the corner with a view of the Duomo.

This was one of the BEST B& Bs I have ever stayed in. Not only is the location perfect but the cleanliness, beauty and helpfulness of the staff were truly outstanding. Special thanks to Simona for her wonderful help with everything and for making sure my stay was a great experience!

Maceo was TOPS all the way around! Great reception...the best breakfast we had any where in Sicily....and the rooms were immaculate.
This is a beautifully designed, first class B&B, with the best modern upgrades .....all in a charming historical structure. And best of all is the location (right in the center of all the tourist attractions) and the gracious hostess.
You will not go wrong with this choice!

Garage attendant met us at Archimede Piazza to collect our car. From there we walked the final 100 meters or so to the property. Had a little difficulty finding the property because it was in the historical area. Finally found the little sign on the wall. You have to buzz the property to be let inside. Then walk up several flights of stairs to the main floor.
Valentina showed us our room to be sure it was satisfactory before checking us in. The room was large, clean and well-appointed. Breakfast was served in a room off the main lobby. It was above average in offering and quality. Very happy with our stay here and would return if in the area again.

Right in the centre of a busy area and a stone throw away from the historical buildings and squares yet in the room it is quiet and peaceful!
