I've stayed here several times previously, so the room was good value as usual. This is a Marston's (brewery) pub/lodge, so I was surprised and disappointed there was no draught ale in the bar. I had a pizza, which was edible but definitely required at least twice as much topping on the base - very miserly portion control!
NB: all the staff on duty were absolutely fine: I'm sure these are senior management policy issues.

The staff at The Willows were fantastic but unfortunately the mattress did not provide a good night's sleep and the food in the bar was average

Room was ok for what it was, food in the restaurant was similar to what you would pay 30-40% more for at a Premier inn, but on the last night of 4, I didn’t eat until nearly 8pm & basically had to take the empty crockery back to the bar after half an hour wait and ask for the next course. There was virtually no-one eating, the service was just zero

alway my first choice. Room 111 was ridiculously warm on arrival. To the right side of TV. Something all over the wall and then early in the morning had a young man outside the window shouting to get another guest attention. I had to go into the bar and ask why no one had shut him up yet. Roughly an hour's worth. Normally irate the place 10 out of 10 just was a disappointing stay

I spent two nights in this hotel and while it was clean, the bed was very hard which left me with back pain after two nights. There was no lift either so I had to lug all my suitcases up the stairs which was a bit difficult, and there didn’t seem to be an option to ask for a ground floor room. You could order food from the pub next door and collect it, but you couldn’t do this if you had any allergies. As I’m coeliac, I had to go over to the pub, order at the bar, and then wait to take my food back to my room.

This is the second we have stayed here. It is a convenient place near to our family and friends. The facilities are good and relaxing. The location is good with good views of the reservoir.

We had an overnight stay here to break up a journey from Scotland to the south of England, both there and back. The rooms were comfortable and we were glad of the air-conditioning they had. The inn next door was welcoming and friendly. We had dinner and breakfast on both stays. This wasn't included with the room, but was very good and well priced. We can certainly recommend this hotel.

Stopover travelling north. Room was fresh, very good size, clean and quiet. Was initially worried as an annex but this worked well as the linked food/ drink inn might be noisy. Staff very helpful in both places

Great little hotel, ended up booking this because it was cheaper than a premier Inn and a Travelodge and to my surprise it was much better, cleaner, more amenities and lovely and quiet. Would definitely stay again.
