The hotel is located in a beautiful historical building. It has both an indoor and an outdoor swimming pool. The rooms are also very comfortable. The only drawback is that our room was situated near a noisy street, especially at night.

First I must say the hotel staff was AMAZING. After check in, they took the time to show us around the hotel and literally took as all the way to our room.
What can I say, this is by far one of the best places I’ve stayed in my life. It’s a building that has been through many lives, first it was a convent, then it was used as military quarters and finally it has been converted into a magnificent hotel.

Fabulous location in the cute walled city. The room is well appointed. Fabulous pool, gym and saunas which was a treat to use. The breakfast was plentiful.
The carpets are filthy throughout the property. They are stained and kind of gross. I had to wear slippers in the room. The bed wasn’t horrible but not particularly comfortable.
This is the nicest hotel in the area. An overall enjoyable stay.

The hotel has been lovingly restored in a historic building. Beautiful inner gardens and spa. Delicious and ample breakfast, well appointed rooms, spotlessly clean. My only criticism was the on site garage. To exit and enter is done by a buzzer system to the front desk from the garage and at the entry of the garage. It would be much easier if the guests were given a card to use to make exiting and entering more seamless. Other than that this was a 5 star experience. I would absolutely return.

Lovely hotel with very nice staff. Very clean, all the thinks you need for a relaxing week of vacation: SPA, nice breakfast, swimming pool, pool bar with huge variety of snacks. Rooms were big and had fantastic views.

First room we were shown was unmade. The next room we were offered had no window. The only room left was in one of the furthest recesses of the compound. We were tempted to leave breadcrumbs so we could find our way back. As a former convent, it was an impressive edifice, well located in the old part of town.

Another gem from Vila Galé, and one of the best hotels we’ve stayed at in Portugal.Opened in June this year, the rooms & hotel facilities are immaculate.Superb spa and gym, amazing bar , excellent restaurant, usual great breakfast. Easy to find, just inside the old walls. Underground car park. Staff were also wonderful. I’ve run out of superlatives!

Brand new fully restored old building in Elvas, it is a very nice hotel, beautiful decorated and great service.
I have been to many hotels in the area and this is without doubt the best one.
I can fully recommend to stay here.

The hotel is very centrally located and beautifully decorated. WiFi is very patchy and needs improvement. Breakfast was OK but a little more variety would be nice. The mezzanine room is great with a huge bed, two tvs and air-conditioning. Overall we would be happy to stay here again.

Very professional and friendly staff. Beautiful brand new hotel. The restaurant was awesome for dinner. Great wine, great service, delicious food. The bar is also very nice with polite and professional staff. The indoor pool is perfect from very early ti very late in the afternoon. Spotlessly clean rooms. Air conditioned works flawless. The toiletries were also very nice. Underground and secure parking. We visited all the city center from the hotel. Thank you for a wonderful stay in Elvas.

Beautiful property, great staff, just over all beautiful! The only negative was our AC did not work, and they did not have a fan for us to use. Very late in the night, approximately 1am they finally offered to move us to a new room. However, at this time my sick son was just not up for the move!
