The location of the property is easy to access and find, and also it is only a short distance from the Ferry Port. There is a large store with adjoining shops within a five minute walk. The rooms were clean and satisfactory, and the breakfast was great.

The signing in process could be improved: As there was no-one on duty, it was by chance another guest found and located the machine for signing in on an external wall.

It’s very noisy, you can hear the people next door, but also the door or the window is not soundproof at all and there is a big street right outside so all the time you can hear the cars, and the people on the balcony/corridor where they go out to smoke

Very cheap accommodation, the only way we could affordably accommodate 6 of us. First time I've used a completley autonomous check in with no staff whatsoever and it was relatively easy.

You get what you pay for, in this case the simplest of rooms, obvious damp and extremely limited facilities. No creature comforts beyond a tv, no spare blankets, pillows etc.

Room was well laid out, clean and comfortable. Easy to access with lift down to car parking. Free parking right outside. good location for catching ferry in St Malo.

No air conditioning. Room was so hot we were not able to sleep. children 4 & 7 couldn’t either so we were all very tired.

It was dirty, metal drill shaving were all over floor from front door inwards. Extremely small room, very noisy all through night. No air conditioning. Staff extremely unhelpful when we found one! Asked for extra pillows at 6 pm said he was on it & would bring them shortly. I returned to reception twice last time at 8.45pm all reception locked up staff had left, no pillows arrived!

Room was a little small. I was unclear on the checking process based on the emails I received but it was easy to call the remote reception desk. I was frustrated that the question I submitted by email regarding how to check-in late (the email was sent in March) was only answered the day before my arrival - over 3 months after it was initially requested.

The person who checked us in was helpful and friendly. Our bedroom and bathroom were very clean and hair/body shampoo was provided. Towels were provided as well which were changed daily. The city centre, the railway station and the ferry terminal are quite far, but there are bus stops nearby. There is a good supermarket in front of the property (Intermarche'). There is ample parking and the hotel is close to a main road, so this hotel is more suitable for people with a car than for people who use public transport. The reception is only open from 17.00 to 21.00, so if you arrive outside these times, you can self-check-in using a machine similar to a cash machine just outside the building on the ground floor. For this you need your booking reference number and your credit/debit card, as you need to pay either the whole amount or part of it before you are given an access code to your bedroom.

We had stayed in a hotel of the same chain in Mulhouse some years ago and we liked it very much. When I noticed on the booking.com website that a hotel of the same chain was available in St Malo, I booked it without looking at the pictures in details. We expected this hotel to have the same layout both externally and internally, but this was not the case. The bedrooms on the upper floors give onto a walkway which runs along the whole perimeter of the building., so not much privacy when one is in the bedroom and the window is open. The bedroom was quite small and cramped and there was minimal storage space. There was not much space between the entrance door and the beds and we lost even more valuable space when we had to separate the two single beds which were next to each other. The stairs are covered on top, but the sides are open to the elements and therefore when it rains, they become wet and can be slippery, but fortunately there is a lift. If you are on the upper floors, there are no internal lifts or stairs which take you from the bedrooms to the dining room where the breakfast is served and therefore you need to go outside onto the walkway, take the stairs or lift and then re-enter the building to access the reception area/dining room.
