I appreciated their approach to covid-19 - disinfection everywhere, so no need to be worried. Really quiet hotel, which is great, not far from the river and U-bahn station is basically next to the hotel...I can only recommend.

Although my no-show was confirmed more than 24 hrs in advance, the hotel was reluctant to offer any alternative solution to postpone my accommodation or reduce price. Will not book again

Very nice staff, the l room is very nice

Really enjoyed my visit, services was great, very clean and the room was comfortabe and quiet.

The room was well-maintained, clean and well-equipped. My bathroom was with bathtub which I really appreciate, during my stay, the fitness was available at 24/7, but the sauna/ spa is unfortunately under renovation. The mini bar in the room is free, bottle opener, glasses and water boiler are provided in the room which should be a basic thing but many hotels in Germany tend to neglect it. The front-desk was friendly and polite. All in all, I had a good time during my stay, everything was great and I wish I could stayed for longer.

Conveniently located, clean and well-managed hotel. Rooms are specious and with free bar for every night its a great value for money. Breakfast spread is also good.

The stay was excellent. Staff is curteous and very professional. They are willing to go the extra mile to help guests. The room is spacious and super clean. And they even offer drinks (including two beers) daily curtesy of the hotel. There is a cinema which has free movies once a week. The only bummer is that all TV channels were german. But aside from that it was a great experience!

Great location. Very good breakfast. Friendly staff, I arrived very early my first day and they accomodated me for early check-in, very early check-in. The bed was smaller than I imagined

Good hotel

The Aircondition in the hotel were not working, and the weather temperature at the time, makes it unbearable to have afternoon nap. The Aircondition wasn’t fix throughout our stay in the hotel. The staffs are excellent. They are very welcoming and polite.

Nice functional hotel, short walk to the Rhine which is lovely to walk along. Free beer & water in mini bar is a nice touch. Also the mini kitchen in the room was interesting and could be a plus for those who have the need to put it to use. Only minor feedback was the air con did not go as cold as I like even when turned down to below 5C, although temp was bearable. Staff were very helpful and a credit to the hotel!

The air conditioning system was broken when I arrived. Due to the heat wave, the room was boiling hot. The A/C was not going to be fixed before my departure, but this information was not provided upfront by the hotel. After suffering two miserable nights, I requested a refund for the final night, which was refused (was told that if the reservation was done through a third party (i.e., Expedia), it needs to be sorted with the third party). I cut my losses and booked myself into the Marriott.

It was a real pleasure for me to stay at the Living Hotel Kanzler by Derag for 4 nights in late May 2019 while on a professional trip. The hotel's ambiance, service and location were perfect for my needs and tastes. Its homely atmosphere is very rare in hotels of this kind. Thanks!

Comfortable hotel and staff pleasant

The room I was given was supposed to be quiet, as it faced the back but it was claustrophobically small. Plus, when I opened the window I looked out on a court yard with several delivery vans and several workmen were holding loud conversations. When I asked for a bigger room I was shown one and told that they all face the big traffic street and opening the window would be a constant traffic soundtrack. It was very warm on that day and I asked for the AC to be turned on as it was stuffy and uncomfortable in the room. I was told that the AC does not come on until end of May no mater what the temperature. This struck me as very strange. I had also called ahead from NY to explain I had allergies and ask if it was possible to get almond milk. I was told that this would be no problem. However when I asked for it for coffee on the day I arrived, jet lagged and dealing with all the room issues, I was told there was none in any of the 3 kitchens. (I waited for the one receptionist who was there to search for it, even this was in the mid day, and it seemed strangely understaffed.) I also noticed that the white curtains in my room were full of stains. I ended up packing my belongings and, even though it was the last thing I had planned on doing, moved to another hotel.

A very practical hotel for the business traveller. Close to Metro stop and easy to reach anywhere of relevance.

nice kind and comfortable

It was perfect for us because it offered the roll away bed option for our third person. It also offered parking which was nice but I thought the charge was a bit high.

Great reception staff but not much else to write home about. This hotel is dated and could do with a good clean. It has become quite shabby and is not particularly well-managed. Parking is a bit of a challenge as the gate does not work properly. The room we were offered was ridiculously small and left us asking for an upgrade. The doorlock did not work properly and presented us with frequent trips to the lbby to have the keys re-programmed. Breakfast is decidely underwhelming as is general cleanliness. On one day we got no room cleaning at all and had to find someone to give us clean towels (at least). Most of all, nobody really seemed to care

My stay at Derag Hotel Kanzler was disappointing. My room was hardly ever cleaned. My phones charge went missing. The worse experience was when someone was given access to my room in the middle of the night....how? I dont know I never felt secured from that day.

The hotel 4 star hotel but with 7 star staff Amazing spa and fitness clup.

Rooms are well equipped and comfortable with a desk and reliable free wifi allowing you to work, but also a seating area where you can relax (and free beer in the fridge!) 20 minute walk or 10 minute U-bahn journey to the historic city centre.

I have never seen service quite so incompetent. I was working in my room during my first day there, and had the privacy sign on the door. The room was therefore not cleaned, which is fine. But then it took me 3 phone calls over the course of 7 hours to get clean towels brought to the room. In addition, the room, like most others in the hotel, has a balcony connected to other balconies. Employees walk on them without warning at different times of day, which is scary and a total violation of privacy. The kicker was the gym, which is simply never cleaned. The pile of used towels there had long since overflowed the bin and spilled onto the floor. One day I went in to find an open bottle of beer on a bench there.

This hotel is still stuck in the bygone era. It's tired and simply not comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful though.

I have stayed at this hotel several times before. It is clean and modern. It is convenient to the Museum Koenig and several other museums and government buildings (which is why I choose it). The only downside is that it is a 20 minute walk from anything else in Bonn, including places to eat ... and the breakfast at the hotel, although highly varied, costs more than a typical dinner at a modest restaurant.

Hotel is only 2mins walk from Museum Konig U Bahn station, which is only 8mins from Hbf. Had meeting next day with EBA which is on the same U Bahn line, so very convenient for me. Arrived 5pm, friendly welcome, given single room on first floor. Unfortunately the interconnecting door with the next room is not soundproof, so could hear couple talking in next room: I made earplugs. Bed comfortable, room not overheated for December weather (some are). Big range of German cable channels, a few English business channels, some French and a few Arabic. Ended up watching Star Trek DS9 in German, before switching to BBC. Be warned, the breakfast is extra (tiny bit of a shock), though it is a first rate breakfast (though not as good as the legendary Spanish Parador ones), the bread rolls are wonderful, as was the scrambled eggs. Nothing much else to say except that I would choose to stay there again when I have to visit the EBA in Bonn next year.

Despite booking being accidentally given away we had a great stay in the hotel with helpful staff who sorted us out with a fantastic apartment. If you want one of these couldn't be better. U Bahn next door and on Museum Mile near river. Great Location. Bonn has lots to see - city tour had a very good lady leading it and was booked up even in October. We only had 2 days which was far too short. Good technical museums, Theatre, Museum of Germany since 1945 and the obligatory modern art museum which is - well very modern - etc etc. Station area looks a bit downmarket at night if you arrive late. Taxi driver we had used level crossing to increase earnings - but what do you expect!

The bed's quality is not as good as it was expected for a four stars hotel. Sheets were great, though. The room is so over furniture that make your walking through uncomfortable. Complementary water was not offered.

So well maintained, so detailed in the appearance and ameneies, with an impressive gallerie of pictures from the former visitors of politcal background .. all that did make us feel somehow special. Superherb breakfast, which was included in our room price at booking, made the one night stay close to perfect - thank to the team in the hotel again!!!!
