Excellent restaurant and service

Lovely clean and comfortable bedroom. Big bathroom with lovely fluffy white towels. Food was excellent in the resturant, but the fish and chips was exceptional on friday night. This was our second visit, but im sure we will be back.

Excellent hotel, great value, lovely food in restaurant

Nice facility and excellent co staff however, there are a lot of steps so not great for the elderly and we struggled to get hot water to have a shower. Ran for 30 mins but could only get hot water if ran the cold tap in the sink and popped in and out of the shower to control water that way … not ideal.

We have stayed here before so were expecting the same good service. Unfortunately we stayed in room 20 and it was no where near as good as the last room. It did haven't enough plug sockets and there wasn't one anywhere near the mirror to do your hair. There were marks on the wall which was obviously where it was going mouldy. There was no mat to wipe your feet on which therefore left dirty marks on the carpet which I was not happy to do. Having said that the hotel is in a good position and the restaurant is lovely as are the staff.

Been refurbished since we last stayed, good restaurant and the rooms and bathrooms all upgraded. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the Manager on duty even organised a packed lunch for our journey. Nothing was too much trouble

Room 10 lovely big room and bathroom. Will definitely be staying again after visiting family in Kirton in Lindsey. Food breakfast and in the evening all top quality.

The positives: the staff are friendly, efficient, and helpful, but not obtrusive. The room was nice, with no problems with the facilities. There are USB A and C sockets at the plug points. Everything just worked, so we had no need to ask for explanation. It has a pleasant village setting (NOTE - Hotels.com suggested this was IN Gainsborough - it isn't.) You can walk around the village, which has shops/cashpoint in the Co-Op shop/takeaways and pubs, and a really nice old parish church just a few steps away (it happened to be open for the weekend whilst we were there). Within easy drive of other places, but I don't think you could practically stay here if you are reliant on public transport. The room we stayed in is in the main building - this has obviously recently been refurbished (the room was good, but in the corridor: carpet and some fittings still need to be replaced/it smelled slightly of paint), but they'll probably be finished very shortly by the looks of it. Some of the guest rooms are in adjacent buildings, but only a few steps away across the car park. One minor niggle: the internet service seemed to be a bit underpowered for current hotel size and expectations - struggled on a zoom call with wifi (fortunately, this was personal, not business), and the TV buffered a bit with internet services. Whether this is so in all rooms, I cannot say. Personally, I prefer an ethernet access where I can get one, but I understand this may entail extra wiring. Would return

The accommodation was amazing. We had completed a visit prior to our booked dates to see what the pub & accommodation was like. We weren’t disappointed. The accommodation was very clean and tidy. The staff on reception were very helpful and cheerful. We didn’t actually get chance to sample the restaurant (as we were in the locality to attend a wedding).

Comfortable bed, good service

Great place most of the staff friendly, restaurant was quiet but the young lady made me feel that I was putting her to a great inconvenience to get me a table. Which I wouldn’t except for residents Food was very nice

On approach to room wallpaper was coming off, then could see renovations taking place which we were not advised about prior to arrival or on arrival. Thankfully room was nothing like the corridors! Noisy radiator in early morning and woken up by kitchen staff in early hours. Had evening meal on the day of arrival and was disappointed. Birthday get away let down by poor service

It was interesting. Food and service were excellent. Village setting was nice. We were given a key to a room and we mistakenly opened another nonoccupied room. We were given another key and again it still open the room that was unoccupied and hallway utility closets and the room we were assigned. Really odd, maybe they kept giving us master keys or all the locks were keyed the same.

No problems at all, quiet ish weekday night, though car park was full found a quiet table in adjoining pub for some reading and eating, no TV, lovely couple of pints and nice music

Restaurant was very nice and the staff were very friendly. The room was very small but clean and had everything in it. Fine for an overnight stay.
