Best full English ever !

Shaun and paula, we're lovely and welcoming, with a good knowledge of the area and where to go and what to do , the guesthouse was very ckean and the bed was comfortable, plus the breakfast was very good, the location was spot on with places to eat either side of the guesthouse, one of the main attractions was abbrahams heights on a cable car, with plenty to do when you got there, that was a lovely day out, on our way home we visited chatsworth House, that is well worth a visit, overall we both enjoyed our stay.

the room was absolutely massive and the view from the window was amazing not to mention with it being in matlock bath it was very easy to get around and do all the things we had planned. the owners were very kind and even restocked our biscuits when we were out !!

Absolutely great stay, Paula greeted us warmly at the door and i felt they couldn't do enough for you. The guesthouse itself was beautiful everything in keeping with the house, like you had stepped back in time to Victorian age, it was so well kept and an absolute credit to the pair, the breakfast was just great, you wrote down what you wanted for breakfast and in the morning, once seated your breakfast was presented fresh and lovely. Would definately stay here again.

There was nothing we didnt like. They went above and beyond to make your stay a lovely experience, even down to a bowl of mints you could help yourself to,as you walked into the beautiful place.

There wasn’t anything that we didn’t like

I enjoyed the room in the establishment, it was beautifully furnished with a double and single bed, a full bathroom, sofa etc. It was very clean and looked out over the main road in Matlock Bath. The location was exceptional and we were able to walk to restaurants, pubs etc within a few minutes. Breakfast was great with veggie options for me and my partner enjoyed the meaty version and said the quality was also very good. I liked the fact that we had a cafetiere with breakfast and the coffee was fresh and tasty. The TV was equipped with netflix so felt like a real home from home vibe. The hosts were very attentive and friendly, giving recommendations about restaurants etc. This is a listed building and was very charming and kept the character of the period features, which I appreciated.

The room did get quite cold on the evening, however, a heater was provided which added some extra warmth. Other guests in the room next door were quite noisy and there was a dog barking very early in the morning which was a little distracting.

It's location is excellent for all the attractions. Beautiful building and well kept. Clean and tidy. Excellent breakfast and catering for gluten/wheat and diary free, also noticed catering for vegan. Room was spacious and had plenty of towels and hangers. All our needs met by Paula and Shaun.

Unfortunately, the property next door was rather loud for our taste on the 2nd night. But that's probably our preference.

Ashdale was beautiful and so comfortable in a great location.
