Loved this property. We had three families and our trip was really amazing. The house is well equipped with everything and the pictures probably don't do justice to the stay experience. Wayne the house manager was amazing with the house tour. Nina, the new owner reached out to check on us and responded promptly to any of our queries. Already shared the listing with so many of our friends

Was hoping for a little getaway after thanksgiving and what a pleasant surprise. For once the place is better than the photos. Everything is so clean. So well maintained. The property is gorgeous! Already talking about coming back. So much fun. The host was so accommodating. Wayne gave us a great tour and we felt at home. Great town. Went to the Dickens festival and hung out with the locals. Love this place!!!

We stayed for an anniversary trip and everything was sooooo perfect. The house is very neat. Always something to look at or do. Very very well stocked. I would recommend bringing a good fan if you stay in the summer. It gets pretty warm. Me and my friends can't wait to stay again in the future

The Shack provided a wonderful retreat in a unique and beautiful setting. The valley view was breathtaking and the property itself was amazing.

This property is likely going to the most interesting house we will ever stay in, in our entire lives! The decor is so fun! The property location is perfect, atop a hill but also very close to local amenities (grocery store, take-out options, downtown, the Lake). The children loved exploring the house and even more loved the pool. The view was amazing! There is no doubt that this house has (and will continue) provide many families with great memories.

The Shack on the Hill was much more impressive in person than online. The moment we got to the property we were in awe! At least every half hour someone would comment about how cool it was. It's so unique and fun! It has a great flow to the floor plan too so it makes it easy to socialize. We had a blast and can't wait to go back! Wayne was amazing too in explaining all the amenities for us.

We had the best time staying at the Shack. There is so many tiny details that you could see something new each day. The views are amazing and you can’t beat that fireplace. The master bed is super comfy and our family really had a great time!

I wish I had the time to type out the novel length review this vacation home deserves! We took our family of 10 here for Labor Day weekend with the intent to spend most of the time at Clear Lake, but the amenities were so amazing at Shack on the Hill that we opted not to leave this private resort! Or as our kids would call it “Pirate Resort”! We couldn’t have found a more exciting and accommodating vacation home to have our family weekend getaway! From the huge beautiful resort style pool, to the breathtaking views, to the pirate fun house for the kids (and adults!), to our own private party stage and bar with disco ball, to the finishing touch of a rope swing, I really can’t think of one single thing I could add to this perfect vacation spot…other than maybe a pirate ship somewhere on the private acreage! And on top of ALL that…the owner, Brad, and property manager, Wayne, couldn’t have given us a warmer welcome! Thank you so much for the opportunity to stay at your AMAZING vacation home Brad!! We had a truly wonderful stay and we will count the days for our next booking! We also decided that as cool as the name “Shack on the Hill” is, this name does not do it justice! The owner of this house “Shack On The Hill” must have a superb taste on putting things together which combined with location,theme,and fantasy dreams.Three nights staying at Shack has passed by so fast I wish I could stay even longer since my niece and nephew enjoyed everything around them;swinging ropes,swinging pool,and the hot tub.And most of all the owner and the caretaker Brad and Wayne are so nice and very helpful and easy to reach..We will be back again soon.

The pictures don’t do this place enough justice - it’s such a creative oasis. Our family very much enjoyed our time! We highly recommend booking a stay at the Shack on the Hill.

The pictures really don't do it justice - a big interior space, full of adventurous decor (pirates! elephant!), a great kitchen, a fantastic bar lounge. Outside, there was almost never a moment when someone wasn't in the pool or hot tubs. Lots of outdoor seating, fire pits, grills and a griddle. We had a stellar time, and hope to return again and again.

We rented this property for my daughter’s 11th birthday. She brought a friend with her. The girls had a great time. The Shack is really close to the lake and the town. It has AC which is great cuz it was hot this weekend. The pool is great and the property itself is huge so the kids had a lot to do. Wayne, the property manager and Brad the owner are amazing to communicate with. The only downside is because of its remote location, internet is spotty… but it worked out great because it prevented me from checking work emails. So it’s not a real downside since we had a lot of QT with no screens. We had a great time and will likely rent this place again. ☺️

I brought my wife, our adult kids and grandkids and we loved it. House was like a disneyland ride. We had a couple minor issues with power and toilets but I called their guy and he showed up to fix it right away. Pool and hot tubs were never empty and the free jukebox is great.

The listing and photos don't even come close to seeing this property and the experience that comes with it first hand. It was amazing in person and my group of friends all had a lifetime of memories together because of what this property had to offer us. Awesome pool, kitchen, bar, sleeping areas, views, plenty of open area inside the barn, interesting barn construction materials and decorations for visual pleasures. The hosts were great in communication, property introduction and anything that we needed within reason. We can't wait to book it again sometime in the future. This place will not disappoint you in anyway!!!!!

We had the most excellent stay. The pool, the hot, and the bar were so fun. The view is insane. Already can't wait to stay again!!

Brad’s place is a great spot! Very cool unique property with a great outdoor space and view, great for a group. The jukebox was a hit. Brad was great and would definitely recommend to others!
