Great location. Minutes from the island and easy to get downtown. Johan is a great host

We had a great one night stay! You could smell the clean when you walked in! Beds were incredibly comfortable with nice bedding! Wonderful massage chair was an added bonus and we enjoyed the very comfortable couch with a movie. Kitchen is well stocked. Baby gate is a bit annoying but that was pretty minor. Overall great place! I would definitely stay again. Also communication with the host was excellent 😊

We were in the area property hunting. So much better than a hotel! We were able to relax after a busy day, eat our own food, and enjoy the massage chair! Would definitely stay again. Our needs were very simple so I would check with the host if you require something specific for example playing cards or board games, or an extra TV screen for video games.

Stayed with family over Christmas 4 days. Overall it worked out but we did have some hiccups. The rental is the entire home but there is a tenant in the ground floor suite. We had no issues with this. As a basement entry home,one bedroom and laundry are on the ground floor and stairs up to the main living area. Host was very quick to reply to any issues and even provided a Christmas tree in the living room for the holidays PROS - close to amenities, the ferry, malls etc. Jingle Pot pub is walking distance with liquor and convenience store -large bedrooms -lots of parking CONS -confusing which door to use for entry as didn’t want to bother the tenant-the door code didn’t work on the front door (eventually did but instructions on which buttons to press would have made that less frustrating before trying side and back doors) -annoying big wooden baby gate at top of stairs on hinges-not removeable-blocking passage between kitchen and living room-had to be left closed -no “gym” as pictured - all lights on some weird motion system that kept turning off even while moving in the room - no shampoo or soap in the bathrooms as per listing description, no laundry detergent -no checkout instructions but we cleaned out all our Christmas wrapping and recycling -kitchen was not very clean like it had not been cleaned between guests Removed stars for us having to clean up the kitchen before using it,no shower soaps, some annoyances and no checkout info

Clean, massage chair a nice perk

This property was perfect for the four of us. It was centrally located, and had all the amenities we could hope for. The host was outstanding and easy to contact. The massage chair was a wonderful treat. The huge coach awesome TV and comfortable beds were wonderful.

Nice house with 2 large bedrooms & bathrooms on top floor. (1 bedroom on ground level which we didn’t use). The king size beds were wonderful. There are 14 steps up to the main living space…which was okay for our group but I don’t remember reading that when booking. Our property manager was excellent to deal with. We’ll definitely stay here again.

This is a nice home in a quiet location, easily accessible. It has everything you might need. We especially enjoyed the very large family room. Great stay. Highly recommend.

Great homey home that was super clean. Lots of space and excellent king/ queen beds. Everyone loved the massage chair! Nanaimo has some excellent gluten free restaurants near by. Would definitely here stay again. Highly recommend for several travelers and/or families. Owner prompt & responsive in communications.

Great location, we were only a few minutes from the pool. Easy check-in, spacious home, comfortable beds, and communication with the host was very easy.

We had lots of problems with this reservation. Before warned if you reserve here. Pros about this property: huge big screen TV, the kind people have in their own homes. Very uncommon in a rental situation. Good WiFi. Cons: First, I reserved, it was charged and paid. Then the host told me he had double booked and returned our money. We rebooked for a later date. The night before we were due to arrive the host told us that he had double booked cancelled first night. The host said he would give us that night’s money back and give us a 50% discount for the rest of stay. VRBO confirmed. House is run down. We bought hand soap for the kitchen and the two bathrooms & body wash for the two showers, paper towels, kitchen dish soap (this property’s is watered down) & sponge (this property’s was falling apart), clothes detergent. Flies abound & get into the house so you might want fly paper. We would’ve liked having a traditional spatula with a long handle and tongs for cooking. We were really glad we brought our collapsible strainer/colander, sharp kitchen knives (as in many lower end rental properties , this property’s knives are dull), our own oils/vinegar, salt/pepper and herbs/spices. Substandard tableware, kitchenware. Too many issues. Disappointing. We will not return.

There were 3 children and 3 adults and there was room for everyone - so nice to have 2 full bathrooms, comfy beds with nice sheets/pillows/quilts. The kitchen had everything we needed (unusual for a lot of rentals), room for 3 cars to park, a back deck with a huge BBQ (which sadly we didn't have time to use), fabulous huge leather sectional in living room and good TV, 2 coffee makers worked well for us coffee lovers.. Johan was very available for my few calls. I would stay there again and will tell my friends to book it for their fall and winter trips to Nanaimo.

The house is very clean and spacious. The host is very friendly and responsive. We will definitely come back again!

Unfortunately I forgot to ask for wifi and TV instructions prior to arriving so didn't have either for the first night. Johan is a very busy guy so make sure you connect early before arriving. Everything got sorted out super quick once we met in the back yard. Check in was super easy and location was great - short walk to the Jingle Pot Pub which had a nice dinner. Nice deck off the kitchen to sit and have a coffee or a glass of wine.

We had a great time in Nanaimo, and staying at Johan's place was great. It was very quiet, comfortable and clean. Johan was great host, very friendly; he got us all set up on our first day, he was available anytime we needed something, or if we had any questions. My sisters favorite part was the massage chair, she really enjoyed that. Thank you Johan for being a great Host.

The host was quick to respond for all enquires. The home was well equipped and ready to go.

Nice set up

Clean accommodation at a great rate. The massage chair was a big hit after long days in the classroom! There was a bit of confusion with the wording in the listing; just a typo, which was very promptly addressed and resolved by the owner. The owner was also very accommodating and quick to respond to any questions. Will book this property again.

We stayed here for three nights. Lots of space for 5 people. Well equipped and very quiet. Easy access to the highway and all sites on the Island and very close to Nanaimo city center. Host was very responsive and answered all questions quickly. Great stay!

We only stayed for two nights unfortunately. There is really everything you might need. We could stay for months. Very comfy beds, parking in front, very quiet. Excellent! Recommendation 100%
