The location is amazing, the view of the river and hills breathtaking. The bed was huge, breakfast had many options and was a bit different everyday. The room was big and clean. There was a big selection of wines and the possibility to experience a wine tasting evening which was great. The hosts were very polite and friendly. I would definitely recommend.
The Internet connection was a bit slow but this was not a problem as we didn't have to work.

As soon as we walked through the door we were asked if we would like a glass of wine - which is exactly what we wanted to hear after a long journey. The gastehaus was lovely and comfortable, with stunning views across the valley. The "mini-bar" was stuffed full of the family vineyard's fine produce. I think you would be have to be fit to walk down the hill (and back up again) to Trittenheim, but there are two decent enough restaurants about five minutes walk away.
