We chose this house for our weekend getaway due to the attractive advertisement. There were only a few reviews, but the description seemed suitable. With multiple master bedrooms, a large pool, and BBQ facilities, it appeared to be a perfect choice. Unfortunately, the reality was a far cry from our expectations. Despite the house being expensive, the experience was not up to par and it felt that the house was overpriced by a factor of three. The house had several shortcomings, both minor and critical, that are inexcusable at such a price point. The hosts were responsive and tried to assist us, but this isn't what one wants to deal with during a weekend getaway. So, if you're reading this review, please reconsider before booking this property. What went wrong? First, we were not warned that the house could run out of water, but on the second night, it did. This means that you cannot use the toilet, take a shower, etc. According to other reviews, this happens regularly. The advertisement mentioned a BBQ, but sadly, there was no BBQ on the property, and we were initially not allowed to make a barbecue ourselves. Only after a lengthy conversation were we granted permission to grill. The house has power issues. Half of the air conditioners would only work for 2-5 minutes after a full reset before shutting down due to insufficient voltage. Coupled with a lack of ventilation in half of the rooms, we lived in stuffy, humid air with no chance for freshening up or air conditioning. The natural lawn surrounding the house attracted many insects. The ground floor and kitchen were infested with ants. The hosts did call in pest control, but this was both ineffective and led to some of us feeling unwell from pesticide exposure. Shower partitions were either broken or absent. Doors, both internal and external, creaked and were difficult to open/close. Bathrooms and toilets lacked locks. One of the toilets leaked, and there were issues with the sink drainage.
