Stunning and quiet property in the heart of a busy city! We were welcomed by the stuff with some drinks and everyone took a lot of care of us and our luggage. The beds were the best we had during our 2 months Sri Lanka stay 😊

A perfect stopover between Colombo and Kandy and beyond. Full of old world charm and the tour of the hotel was great! Staff friendly and accommodating!

A bit difficult to find

Beautiful heritage property amongst the trees. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. We spent New Years eve and it was peaceful. Just what we wanted.

The restoration of the century old property was done exceptionally well, from the intricate tile floors, to the custom wood work, and the perfectly mannered gardens, it’s an oasis of beauty.

The property is absolutely mesmerizing and beautiful! It is a colonial design home turned into a boutique hotel. It’s gorgeous and the services is absolutely amazing. The best service came from Rasool in particular who gave us a full tour of the property while telling us the history and the evolution of the building. I highly recommend this stay and can’t wait to be back soon!

This boutique hotel has an amazing history, it used to be a private residence 100 years ago. Most of the flooring tiles are original, the place has been beautifully restored, the rooms are incredible and very cozy, their beds are comfortable. I don't want to give away the story behind the beauty of this building but do stay there and ask them for a little tour around. It's absolutely fantastic.

The fact that we couldn't stay more than one night...

This is easily one of the most beautiful boutique hotels I've stayed at. Recently renovated, no expense has been spared to bring the Colonial mansion back to life. The attention to detail is remarkable. All the services are extraordinary and if I ever have a special occasion in Sri Lanka it will be at the Grand Walawwa.

A little tricky to find, but then, most things are in Sri Lanka if you are both driving and navigating on your own. 🥰

Beautiful property, stylishly decorated. The WOW factor is off the charts with this hotel. The hotel is breathtaking from every angle and point of view. In addition to being stunning visually, the rooms were very spacious and the shower was awesome (water pressure was fantastic) While I was blown away by the hotels architecture and design, the service surpassed that further. Mr. Pragash and his team took great care of us, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was immaculate. An example of this, we had reserved an elephant experience in pinnawala for the morning, and I forgot to pack towels as requested by the experience. Mr. Pragash and his team were kind enough to offer us to borrow a few of their towels for the experience. I would be remissed if I didn't mention the food, BREAKFAST EXPERIENCE is a must. I enjoyed my string hopper and kiri hothi.

Not much to dislike. This hotel is a place that you stay-in and enjoy. It is very private and feels like an oasis in a bustling city. With that, outside of the hotel, we aren't sure if there is much to do in the immediate kegalle city.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property, it has been beautifully renovated and we had a truly relaxing time. The staff were also very attentive and ensured we enjoyed our stay.
