There wasn't one thing I could think of except the neighborhood...don't walk at night..I thought I was being kind by buying a homeless man a water after he asked me for money..and he got mad and threw the bottle at me and chased me down the street .so..it's Los Angeles..be ready for anything

The building looked newly built, and the rooms and restrooms were very nice. The bed was comfortable and nice to sleep in.

If you’re coming in your own vehicle, I definitely do not recommend this place. It’s almost impossible to find parking on these full narrow streets. Both nights we stayed, we had legitimately drove in circles for 1 hour each night desperately looking for parking. I wasted so much gas and time. Another thing, I wish they had swept the rooms and cleaned the restroom before we arrived. There was hair and crumbs on the floor, and ant infestation on the walls. There was also a spider on the wall when we arrived. The showers tub was dirty, so I had to wear my sandals in the shower. The rooms walls are paper thin and our upstairs neighbor was STOMPING on the floor at the early hours of 4am while we were trying to sleep. You can hear everything. I’d love to stay here again if they include some sort of parking spot and clean a bit more often before guests arrive.

Few days before arriving, I had my flight cancelled and asked if I could get a full refund. They said that the room rate was non-refundable. After a few days managed to get a flight and only loose one night, asked if could get the money from the first night and they kept saying no. Once I arrive, there are no staff, everything is trough messaging. You have cameras everywhere and signs around the hostel with messages ie. Do not take more than 15 minutes in the shower… I was staying in a 4-bedroom dorm and everything was dirty, with lots of hair and not clean at all. There was also underwear on the floor During the night it became super noisy that nobody could sleep. I had to sleep with my bag in my bed because there are no lockers ( only a small draw that you can’t keep your personal stuff as there is no way you can lock it). The front door and the rooms have the same code and the door is mainly open. Ahh and there is no Wi-Fi and the bag there is only USB, no plugs. I have stayed in lots of hostels and I believe this one is the host one from the service to the facilities.

I would not recommend this hostel, I had booked for four nights and left after only two - many signs throughout the property will remind you that if you leave early you will not get a refund, and the fact they need all these signs should tell you what you need to know. As a woman travelling solo I did not feel particularly safe. All the doors have codes on them, but the front door was left open very regularly, and the women 4-bed dorm is on the ground floor, with people leaving the window unlocked throughout the night. The front gate is always unlocked, there is no reception area that might filter anyone coming in or out, and no lockers to store valuables. The property is not very clean either, there was a bottle of antiseptic, hair and tissues on the window sill right next to my bed, I found a toothbrush charger under my mattress, there was crumbs and hair all around the bed and the blanket I was given was not clean either. The bathroom could be very nice, but again not very clean, and we ran out of toilet paper and tissues when I was there, with no extra to be found anywhere and no reception to go to - you have to call the manager just to get some toilet roll. Kitchen roll ran out too the first day I was there and was not replaced by the time I left. Overall it could be a nice place with some effort, but is not clean and does not feel safe or welcoming. Do yourself a favour and go a few blocks down to The Steady if you're travelling on a budget.
