The hotel is in a nice quiet area with a beautiful view of Porto. The staff here is also great and very helpful.

Had a fabulous stay at the Rebello. It’s location in Gaia, afforded us peace and quiet when desired with the convenient flexibility to walk or Uber to Porto just across the river. We were a few steps from the Boardwalk and all manner of shopping and dining. The staff was kind and courteous and the rooms were a dream for a family with young children.

From start to finish this hotel was perfect. Honestly, one of the nicest hotels and experiences I’ve ever had. There is no question. This is the best place in Porto to stay. Can’t wait to come back!

Fabulous open room with food and drink and amazing view and loved the massages and rooftop restaurant!

First things first, the location of this property is fantastic. Situated right in front of the Douro River, the hotel is right by the bustling hob of Gaia and there is always a good time to be had after a quick stroll into the river park. I booked a room with a river view and was not disappointed. Waking up every morning to the sun reflecting against the Douro was a nice start to the day and made for some very great photos. Another thing I enjoyed was the breakfast. The variety and the quality of the buffet items were great (the pastel de natas are divine) and the to order menu also had a good selection of other breakfast items to compliment the buffet spread. I also enjoyed the Bello roof top (spectacular views of the river and good food) and the Pot and Pan (cosy way to indulge in Portuguese cuisine) with the staff doing their best to accommodate you. There are a few things I believe can be improved as I feel these left down the hotel and made it feel more like a 4 star than a 5 as advertised. The cleanliness (quite a few instances of having to clean the room myself as it was not swept so a lot of stray items littering the floor), and the reception staff who were slightly difficult to deal with in some instances meant I was reluctant asking for assistance after my first encounter. Also had to deal with smells in the room, which was a bit disconcerting. All in all, a nice hotel with a 4/5 rating from me.

Simple a wonderful hotel, with wonderful staff and amenities. We will definitely be coming back.

Highly recommend. There’s parking, it’s in a “quieter” but still bustling area (Gaia), great location for walking, a happening street market and restaurants nearby, and an excellent spa. We really enjoyed our stay.

The communication is very good with the staff at Rebello which made things very easy even before my stay. And the spa is just a perfect way to kick off the weekend. I plan on returning soon!

We stayed for 11 days and just had the best time. Perfect location, the roof top restaurant was so lovely, great staff, fab gym and my son loved the pool. Just a fab hotel. Totally recommend Andy Hardy

You immediately relax when you walk in to this hotel. It's visually gorgeous and everyone is so helpful and king. We had a two bedroom suite that was spacious, comfortable and just plain beautiful. You could easily walk to Porto over the bridge or take the water taxi. Also, a gorgeous walking trail right outside the front door. Food and drinks and service was amazing!

Perfectly positioned for exploring Porto. Room was amazing, with great views of the river and bridges. Handy (but steep) walk up the hill to Graham’s/Taylors/Fonseca etc

In all of the hotels I’ve ever stayed, this stands one out as the best ever. The staff absolutely incredible. The property is beautifully luxurious, the attention to detail impeccable.

This was such an amazing hotel to stay at! The rooms are modern and comfortable and the staff are super friendly and helpful! We would love to stay at this hotel again. The pool area is also gorgeous, however, you only get a 45 minute slot and it would be nice to have a little longer because it’s so lovely :) the rooftop bar is a must!

Beautiful hotel with terrific interiors. Great staff generally, incredible views which make up for 25 minute walk into Porto itself. You can of course use taxis but we prefer walking. Gaia itself is nearby and great for visiting the wine cellars but it doesn’t have the charm of Porto itself and is overrun by sellers selling cheap goods. One word of warning, if you stay in rooms at the front of the property be prepared to deal with some disruption from really noisy motorcyclists who seem to use the road in front as a race track at night. It’s not a deal breaker but does detract if you like to sleep with windows open rather than rely on air con. Other negatives were slow service on the Bello roof terrace - you are advised to make a reservation for the best tables and finally we were aware of the unpleasant smell of drains in our room and in some parts of the hotel on occasion. Thankfully not permanent smell but it wasn’t pleasant and I hope the hotel can resolve it. Finally - breakfast was excellent but really do think they could improve their coffee. Overall a solid 4/5.

Very clean and welcoming staff.

Loved breakfast, the size and comfort of the room, and the property itself. What a roof terrace and view! Perfect location to wander along the front in Vila Nova de Gaia and to get to the cable car or cross on the lower bridge to Porto side. Personally we preferred staying on this side of the river by the port cellars and it was quieter (but still lots going on) than the Porto side, so nice to come back to each evening after exploring the city. We felt it was a special hotel in a fabulous location. Staff are friendly and welcoming. We would definitely return.
