Good value, great location, friendly staff, car parking. Room not bad with fridge and microwave as a nice bonus

The bed was extremely creakey - if you moved in the night it woke you up. We were Room 8 - not sure if that is worst. We were only given one smallish towel between two of us for two nights

Great location in easy walking distance of city centre, right by the RC Cathedral and the lovely Plantation Garden. You can leave your car there for the rest of the day after checking out, which is very handy. Good value, must be one of the cheapest hotels in the city centre.

They keep the price low by cutting all costs to a minimum: fixtures and fittings are the most basic and there are no frills, which I suppose is fair enough. Expect almost no storage for clothes, barely adequate towels, and not getting room cleaned during your stay. But it all seemed clean and functional! We were on the first floor of a rambling old building, and I was bothered that fire doors seem to be permanently propped open with extinguishers. I closed the one on my corridor every evening but it was propped back open the next day

Peaceful, location of room straight out into car park, felt like self-catering facility. Easy to reach public transport. Large TV which I kept bumping my head on trying to clothes out of my suitcase.

Absolutely uncomfortable! No chair to sit on for 5 days. No wardrobe or hangers. Had to live out of suitcase for whole stay. Very small room but problem was it was like living in a caravan with heat from afternoon sun beating in.

Plenty of parking

Kept waiting at 5pm as was told beds just had to be made. When we were given the rooms (2no) they hadn’t been cleaned. Dirty carpet, dirty showers, used cups left in sink, dirty sink, beds had stains under the sheets.

It was very noisy during the night. Not enough room. Couldn’t get hold of anyone when needed.

Exceptional price: value ratio. The location of the hotel was excellent - there is an outstanding public garden right next to the hotel, and the cathedral and shopping precincts were within easy walking distance. In the room the bed was very comfortable and the small fridge and microwave useful. Great shower. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

In ground floor rooms it would be great to have some means of security so that the windows could be left open a little at night.

Parking was available on site

The hotel is in a busy main road and my front facing room meant lots of noise from passing traffic & noisy people going past
