Very bad room quality, broken shower, no wayer pressure. Very loud hard to sleep.
4.0 / 10.0
The rooms are old, a terrible smell of dampness, the air conditioner barely works. The children's activities operate during very limited hours, and if, for example, the reception says that the zipline is open at 10am, it does not open at all until the evening. The big slides in the water park also operate at certain hours. You cannot enter the area for toddlers in the kids club.

Check in was good the guy explained everything we would need to know during our stay. Employees were friendly but some were a little aggressive to try to get you to purchase other things. Room was beautiful besides the a/c started leaking and left a puddle of water in the room (called guest service & the issue was fixed immediately). All the amenities were just as described. Breakfast was 3 out of 10, lunch was a 5 out of 10, dinner was 10/10 in any restaurant. Drinks were GREAT!!! Getting a taxi was easy and checkout was easy. I don't think I will return.

Staff was friendly and helpful. The pool needed to be cleaned more frequently and the dinning wait times were very long. A lot of locals frequently the hotel, which is great but when dinner time comes it’s first come first served, meaning you’re waiting an hour to get a seat.
Over all the experience was average. Food was very well prepared. 5 stars to the chefs.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was nice and comfortable. There was a fairly diverse selection of food depending on the restaurant you chose.
Information on the website, states Plaza La Isla is a 13 min walk. It is over 3 miles. I cannot run that fast.
The Big Ben steak was tough.
The bright lights on the balcony did not allow us to enjoy the jacuzzi in the evening.

I've visited Cancun numerous times, staying at various resorts, but I've never had an experience as disappointing as this one. The property photos are misleading, as they were taken when the hotel was new, many years ago. In reality, the hotel is outdated, poorly maintained, and lacks basic amenities. The main dining area has no air conditioning, making it uncomfortable, and the ongoing renovations is chaotic.
The concierge staff is more focused on pushing time-share sales than providing genuine assistance. Several restaurants were closed during my stay, and the food quality was subpar. To top it off, I spotted a cockroach in the dining area. The gym is also in poor condition, with only a few old, smelly machines available.
If you have the means to spend a bit more, I strongly recommend avoiding this resort.

Room service is limited, never answers, no air conditioning on lobby and restaurants, terrible experience. Do not go to this hotel. It is supposed to be all inclusive but so many things are limited and you will be cooked everywhere other than the room.

Hotel with opened air lobby and corridors but in summer time in Aug, it's hot every where around at daytimes. I got a nice smooth checked in with front desk, the lady at counter next to checked in tried to talk a bout infinity services and offered a free breakfast with them, i guessed they wanted to sell packages at resort, but wasted time after flights every one tired, don't like to hear or staying at lobby for marketing... Nice clean room as reserved but temperature was hot, i called and some one showed up to adjust and fixed but was not enough cool, just ok for the room but in bulk beds for my kids or bathroom was hot all times during my staying. Pool is nice and clean, buffet restaurant is ok not bad, steak in restaurant was not good at all, drinks are ok, there is a coffee and ice cream break incase the other restaurants closed 4-6pm, ocean front with chairs and umbrellas of hotel provided, the beaches are beautiful and clean water but not good for kids, adults must be with them all times because of deep and high waves. About 20 mins from airport to hotel, big mall about 15 mins drive, 40 mins to ferry for Isla Mujeres to enjoy more clean water beaches without waves. The staffs are very nice, theater with shows for kids every days, water zone, kids club with Mexican restaurant tacos open at noon was the best if compare with the others in this hotel, Hotel about 3* but i'll give them 4* for a nice staffs and clean hotel over all was good trip with my family.

The experience was horrible. We found 3 cockroaches when pulling the bunk bed. Then we found cockroaches at every meal- breakfast buffet, sushi restaurant, at dinner. There were flies standing on the salad bar and when we complained about the cockroaches they justified it saying they had pest control and that was just a part of Cancun.
The silverware was dirty often, the floors were dirty with food (not cleaned often enough) and there are lots of deteriorated things - walls, elevators, rusted doors. Just poor maintenance in general.
Customer service was so bad. I’ve gone to Mexico multiple times and they tend to have GREAT service and very courteous people. Servers were not nice, often talked back when we complained, had a bad attitude and weren’t helpful.

The biggest downfall of staying here is that you can’t walk through the lobby or talk to a concierge about excursions without being pressured into hearing a sales pitch for their Luxury Travel Club. My husband and I caved in exchange for a discounted excursion. First they have a very friendly rep treat you to breakfast at their “exclusive” lighthouse restaurant at the hotel. (This restaurant supposedly only allows infinity members to have breakfast in it while normal guests of the all inclusive resort have to use the non-airconditioned buffet restaurant) Then they give you a tour of the two largest and most luxurious suites at the top level of the hotel and take you to the “VIP area” where the real pitch was given to us by a large man-child who vigorously scribbled things that didn’t even make sense on a giant pad of paper while explaining this travel agency-type website they were selling access to. Once I realized what they were trying to sell me was just another version of Expedia with promises of exclusive last minute deals to fancy penthouse suites, and I would have to commit to anywhere between a 10-30 year long subscription they pretty much lost me. But I thought, well I guess if this is like a $20 per month subscription I might consider it… but then they threw numbers that didn’t even make sense for what they were offering - a down payment of over $14000 on top of close to $1000 monthly for 3 years for 10 years of access. Find my full review for more. Avoid the pitch.

This hotel is far to what it was a few years ago. No A/C in common areas including the buffet, horrible! Lobby being repaired…many changes, not for good, including kids areas and food areas. Pool area, very poor service. Never again, I won’t waste my time and money again. You guys should know that to sell a place that is not ready will give you bad reputation, I feel I pay to be uncomfortable. Honestly, I did not enjoyed. Should write more, I feel next time I’ll try different, Expedia should do better about their customers, customer service is important. I just burned a week of my time and my money, and I already wrote about while I was in the hotel and no one asked me more. Improve that, cause at the end this is business and you are not doing it well. Send someone to that hotel and see the conditions, before people start asking you for refunds, I should have mine!

This hotel is falling apart quite literally. There is no AC anywhere except for the rooms, so you will be HOT, the room we barely were able to get under 25 celsius (77 Fahrenheit). There was multiple cockroaches in the dining room of the buffet. The rooms are old, musty and dirty. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone in good conscience. The furniture around the hotel is very old and smells musty, and the pools are all very dirty. This hotel was not worth the $400 we paid for one night. The only saving grace is the beach, but that is it. Everything else here is really disappointing.
