Whenever I’m in South Bend I stay at candlewood, it’s close to my moms. It’s always clean, the employees are always friendly.

Convenient location for visiting Notre dame university. Room clean, big and adequate. Did not like the stronge smell of chlorine in lobby area from laundry. Thought price of room expensive considering they only clean rooms once a week (did not know this without asking).

Cleanliness was a disappointment; it was surface clean only except the toilet and bath tub. A white towel wipe revealed visible dirt. I have stayed here before and didn't have this issue.

I meet a homeless person in the lobby on the night I check in. Found many construction workers and Amazon guy went into the pantry to get coffee in the morning. That’s why there are many construction truck parked in the parking lot and leave early in the morning. Probably they are living in Candlewood.
My friend checked in and open the room and found a woman living on the same room. They have to change room twice at the late arrival at 12:00am. It was so ridiculous!!
Another friend found death cockroach inside bathroom!
I will never come back Candlewood in South bend . It is the worst place I stayed in my life! Don’t go!

At the last minute they cancelled our reservation!! Overbooked!! I had reservation for 1 year. I know it was a cheaper rate than what they could get

Management was horrible when I checked in the room smelled the bathroom was nasty as if it hadn’t been cleaned at all , when confronted the manger about it he shrugged his shoulders and the front desk clerk had to come clean it. 10/10 would never recommend

The staff was nice. Saturday was a bit a mess as they where super busy due to the concert.
The rooms were okay, housekeeping was not a strong point. We moved chairs and found food under them.
I would have expected a little more with the price we paid.
It appears that there are a lot of regular guest, I am guessing from construction/ electrical type workers.

My mother lives in South Bend so when I go to South Bend I’m always looking for a good place to stay I will stay at candlelight again the service was excellent the Employees were excellent

People were panhandling at the Hotel. I am disabled. There were no signs designating disability parking. On the ground there were faded blue painted wheelchairs indicating that it appeared to be “handicapped parking” there were no signs no posts to indicate the spot in front was in fact for handicapped. The cars that were parked in those spots none of them had placards and I don’t blame the people parking in those spots, there just wasn’t any signage. Last night we stayed at the LaCrosse WI, plenty of parking for all, the rooms were immaculate and the staff at LaCrosse were very kind. We continue to use Candlewood, but will never return to the South Bend site I didn’t feel safe and the parking was not acceptable.

The stay was good, however didn't like the fact my credit card was already charged for the stay and was not allowed to pay cash. The purpose of requesting pay at the hotel is why I chose this location.
Left for the evening once returned no parking we made up our parking space.
Otherwise the stay was great.
