Hotel Oktogon was the perfect hotel for my brother and me traveling in December to visit Budapest! Located at a busy intersection with easy access to the rest of the city by foot or by catching a bus, trolley, or metro right steps from the front doors, it was a perfect location. Accommodations were also fantastic - the room was very comfortable and had a unique skylight / window on the top floor, the staff were extremely friendly and had sturdy umbrellas to borrow during a rainy day, and the hotel offered breakfast (for purchase or included in your stay, depending on what you initially book). If you are unsure about where to stay in Budapest, I couldn’t recommend Hotel Oktogon more!

The Front Desk agent was rude, arrogant and very passive aggressive. She lacked any kind of human kindness. Her attitude did not make us welcome and her only talent was to flirt with the lines between fake kindness, passive aggressive and arrogance. When we reported some issues with the room (ex: room door not closing properly) she took note but never informed us that something was done/repaired…

4 & half stars - not quite 5* as requested a couple of things that weren’t resolved (large duvet as opposed to 2 singles on a king bed & bathroom drain smell)
Otherwise, staff very friendly and room on 5th floor perfect for our stay in Budapest. Would stay again if back in the city :-)
Plenty of places for dinner around the area and easy to get to from the airport and train station.

Liked the period hallway but some of the room staff let things down, though overall we did like the hotel. Bed comfortable etc. We were bitton by bugs, it does not seem bed ones, resulting in one of us seeking doctor consultation. Mossies?

This was a very nice hotel. Very beautiful architecture. We needed an extra room during our stay and the front desk staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. Although this hotel was not in the actual city center, it was right by a metro stop and very convenient. Just 2 stops away. You could comfortably walk to city center but it was 93 degrees when we were there so we utilized public transportation. Breakfast was nice. It cost us $18/person at the time. The room was VERY clean and it was nice to make a Nespresso in your room. Plenty of restaurants nearby. The rooms can be small, depending upon what you book. My family would definitely stay here again.

We saw this hotel on line. And thought we wanted an authentic hotel. The Octagone did not fail. It was gorgeous and the updating. If recommend the Octagon to all. The service was great and breakfast was too. The staff at the restaurant were wonderful. I can go on about this hotel. But a visit will tell all. It is in a convenient location too
