We arrived at the hotel around 3pm, thinking it would be the time for checkin, like all the hotels we stayed before on this trip. But the checkin was 4pm and our room was not ready yet. The hotel entrance was very nice so we were happy, but only till we got our room. We were given the room outside the main building, in building 5 which was a 2-story building across the street. We asked for a room in the main building but was told no room left. And we found out that there is no elevator in any of the buildings. We went to our room in building 5 - it was like a motel. The room was very small, and absolutely no storage - no drawers, no shelves, nothing. Aside from the bed, there is only 1 chair (and 1 very small table). The bathroom was tiny, the shower was just a curtain separating the sink and toilet. I cannot believe we were charged the price for a hotel room but had a room like this. And it was my birthday .... The light in the hallway was on a motion detector and it would only detect motion when you came through the entrance of the hallway, not when you come out of your room. And the light was defective, so it blinked and blinked - quite creepy. If you need anything, you must either drive or walk to the main building. For the two nights we really did not feel like coming back .... No complaints about the service. Our cleaning staff brought us a second chair and was accommodating and helpful.

Hotel restaurant wasn’t great unlike other hotels we stayed at in Iceland. The rooms are also extremely small with an even smaller bathroom for the price paid. The only plus side was the breakfast buffet selection was really good.

Had a great stay. Wasn’t there long and the weather wasn’t great so didn’t get to explore much but the hotel was lovely, clean and friendly staff. Just very limited parking

Hotel was clean and the room somewhat comfortable, the bathroom was small however. My main concern was no elevator/lift and our room was on 3rd floor. Luckily they had someone to help with luggage up the stairs, but after a long day outside exploring, 3 flights to the room felt daunting ...

Good breakfast. Restaurant on very limited menu due to staff shortages so you’ll need to look around for restaurants that have space. They all get very full so plan ahead.

The hotel was ok. I was surprised to find that our rooms were in a different building than the hotel office. We unpacked all of our bags and had to walk over to another building across the street for our room. The buildings seemed less updated than the hotel office. Staff was great.

This is a lovely little hotel with a great restaurant. My only complaints would be that the rooms are quite small, even by European standards, and some are in different buildings, which means you need to go outside in order to access the main building, restaurant, etc. Also, the parking lots have some low points in them, so when it rains there's giant puddles to maneuver. Having said that, it served our purposes nicely and the dinner at the restaurant was exceptional.

Very nice hotel with a restaurant on site. Great view of the Vatnajokull Glacier right out the restaurant, deck and quiet sitting area.
