Our stay at the golden pineapple was wonderful. My husband and I love to travel to new countries and hotels. This was by far the best place we have ever stayed. The drive up to the hotel does require a 4x4 vehicle. However, we did not view this as a negative. Nothing amazing comes easy! The views were spectacular and actually enticed to want to stay at the resort which says a lot as we typically prefer to leave each day. The food was great. And service was even better! From start to finish, everything was perfect. The previous negative reviews have unrealistic expectations or blame this property for things out of their control. I would definitely come back again and encourage anyone to stay here when visiting CR. So much to do nearby! Thank you Jessie for a wonderful experience.

This was an amazing experience. The staff were responsive, professional, and friendly. The food was delicious and the included breakfast was exceptional. We have a perfect view of whale tale beach both from the common area and our private balcony. I highly recommend!

Beautiful property. Villas are private and very well appointed. My only suggestion is to stock up on groceries so you can make your own meals if you want to. The kitchens have everything you need to do so. Amazing property and amazing staff!

The stay was fantastic, the food was fresh and delicious. The view absolutely gorgeous. The privacy of our villa was the perfect experience. The service was on point. Definitely a highlight in our trip. The only negative I can say was the drive to the villas. The roads are unpaved for about 15min. Very bumpy and steep roads. Highly dont recommend arriving there at night. Other than that, it was amazing !

The staff so nice and quick with all their services. The room was cleaned everyday and smelled so good. The restaurant was so convenient to have right next to us. We could eat at the restaurant or order our food to eat in our villa which was great on the days we were very tired from excursions. It was better than I could imagine.

Wow. Just wow. First up - Leo was our host and was awesome. Great work Leo! All the staff was great. I'm tired of booking hotels that look good in the pictures then turn out to be disappointing. Golden Pineapple goes the other way. It's breathtaking. Everything here is top notch. I won't repeat everyone else, the rooms are amazing. Outdoor showers, tub and personal pool - brilliant. You can sit outside, (naked if you want!), in your own suite surrounded by jungle mountainside watching CR birds and animals around you. I was worried about the restaurant prices being too high. They are not - in my opinion they match most other table restaurants or even lower than most other 4-5 star hotel restaurants, in my experience. And the food is excellent - a little more rich than fresh, but still quite pleasing. This hotel is on a mountain and the road to access it is too. Don't be a hero. You're not getting up here with a 2wd car. If the rentals are all out of 4wd then you're paying for the taxi. This is the only downside of being here, the taxis are now charging $25 USD per trip from the nearby town. (Feb 2024). That adds up if you want to go out a lot. But honestly, book this hotel just to stay in the beautiful room and relax!

The breakfasts and the dinner the following night we had in the central building with a great view of the whale tale. We appreciated the quiet and very private villa while having access to a large pool and the amenities of full stacked bar and restaurant. A nice touch was the welcome sign and the artfully sliced pineapple as a welcome gift. One word of caution. This place is only reachable with a 4WD. It is impossible to climb up the hill otherwise. We highly recommend this place and will be back some time in the future.

Completely enjoyable and relaxing. Service was attentive to all our needs and was so complete we just stayed instead of going out and exploring. Wonderful view overlooking the ocean and Marino Bellena park. Delightful owner. Despite being a small hotel, the restaurant delivered very good food for all the meals during our stay.

This place is stunningly beautiful, both the hotel and the location. The owner Jessie and her staff were kind, hospitable and welcoming. The restaurant only serves the guests of the hotel, so it is small, nevertheless the food was very good. It was the highlight of our trip to CR.

The food was awful and overpriced! If your not doing breakfast don’t eat! You can spend 3 times even with cab fare in the city with better exclusive food. The food was trying to hard and nothing native to the land…,, they tried to hard with the food nachos tacos pizza is native but not on the menu…
