Staff was very polite and helpfull. Check in was quick and smooth. King room was clean and spacious. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was hot and fresh. The pancake maker was nice and pancakes were delicious. Nice location to resturants and the zoo and beach.

Everything was very good with the exception of the swimming pool. The drinking fountain and the entry door had rust on it. Disgusting, especially the fountain. I wish I had taken pictures

When we arrived we found out there was no power in half the hotel. The staff were very sympathetic and trying their best given the situation. They gave us a room with power but even in that room there was no air conditioning and only half the outlets worked, so we had no fridge or coffee facilities. Once there we were given the option to leave but it was 10:30pm and there were six of us with two children so I needed the Suite. They also had no computer system which meant no refund at that time. So we had to stay. It was the most uncomfortable night we have ever spent in a hotel room. I would have loved to have gotten a message from the hotel before arrival so I could have looked for a different exit. I know through Expedia the hotel can send messages and they must come from a centralized system of some kind considering before arrival I got a message asking to ensure my contact information was up-to-date in case the hotel needed to contact me. Holiday Inn is a large organization, even if this hotel couldn’t call out, there should have been a way for the chain to contact guests before they arrived at 10:30 after driving for 8 hours with children to a hotel with limited power and very few facilities. Also, an offer of a refund would have been greatly appreciated but there was no follow up or check-in.

I can't say enough great things about this location. First of all it was clean comfortable, the free breakfast was good. The staff was top notch. We ran into car trouble on our way back from a family vacation in Michigan. We had to leave our car and my husband behind the day we were to check out. They offered us a late checkout and when it came down to the end of the day and my husband could not fix the car he had been working on in the parking lot, they offered him a room at the last minute until we could make arrangements to get him back to Iowa. They held the keys to our car until we could make it back the following weekend to get it towed away. It was a stressful process being 6 hours away and dealing with a broken down car but they made it a little easier. Definitely a 5 star business!

Found out too late that the shower was clogged. I tried to take a shower and it wouldn't drain. I had water half way up my legs and almost slipped twice because the bottom of the tub had a slimey film like it hadn't been cleaned. This was around 10pm, my 4 kids and husband needed a shower but that was obviously a no go. It sucked. At least my interactions with the front desk staff were pleasant which is rare these days.

The place was great. The shower floor was very slick. My husband has had a stroke so he had to be very careful not to slip and fall!

The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff was helpful and accommodating of special requests. Our only complaint is that, although the breakfast was good, they seemed to have trouble keeping up. Items like coffee and eggs were not available without a wait.

The ice machine on my floor wasn't working, so i had to go to another floor. A little inconvenient.

The bed was uncomfortable, rather a lumpy feel and the pillows deflated to absolutely flat the minute your head touched them. I was able to get about 3 hours of restless sleep. And, if you are allergic to Dove products as I am, be sure you have your own supply of lotion, soap, shower wash, shampoo and conditioner. I can’t review the breakfast because it started at 7am and we had to leave early

The room was clean and great. Staff was great. Entrance area rugs were so dirty they gave a bad first impression. But all was fine past that.
