This property was so nice and clean and was in such a beautiful location. The beach and the views were so spectacular. Check in and check out was super easy and everyone there was very friendly. We loved our stay!

The cottages are clean and comfortable with specracular sunset views. Well equiped and situated in Port Hood, with it's beaches and beauty, you couldn't ask for a nicer spot.

Unfortunately, we spent only one night here. Very nice welcome and lots of information, including where to eat. Fantastic view of the water and sunset.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property.The cottages are clean and cozy, and contain everything one would need for cooking. The beds are comfortable, the view is lovely, and, the beach is easily accessed from the cottages. What made our stay *extra* special, however, was the warmth, wit, and, hospitality of our lovely host. First, he gave us a courtesy call to provide specific directions to the property, then, called us again to let us know about an event happening nearby at the time of our stay, in case we wanted to attend. He is a lovely human being, who seems to genuinely enjoy people. We were very proud to share the beauty of Nova Scotia with our California friends, especially the beauty of the human landscape (-thank you, Colin!). During our stay, the weather was chilly, overcast, rainy, and foggy, but, the warmth of this property’s owner, and the simple, yet, charming accommodations he offers, will bring us back again.- next time, for a longer, sunnier, summer stay.

An quiet, scenic spot with all the necessary amenities

The view of PortHood Island is stunning. The beach is literally right at your doorstep. The Cottages themself are spacious and well maintained. All the implements you need to cook a meal, BBQ, or just make coffee in the morning are there; you just need to bring the food. My only regret is that we only planned for 2 nights; I think we may return next season for the week and totally immerse ourselves in the beauty of the region.

Right on the ocean 2 min walk to the beach terrific

This was the best stop on our Cabot trail trip. Beautiful cabin with everything you need, well maintained, well decorated to make you feel at home, back porch facing the ocean, and a beautiful beach right there, we loved it and wished we could have stayed longer.

View was great - owners friendly and helpful. Good area to travel from while exploring Cape Breton and the Park. Lovely beaches in the area.

The cottage is simple and very clean. The views and beach are outstanding. Colin and his staff are warm and welcoming. They provided us with information about other nearby beaches and activities. We loved the tour of the Glen Breton Distillery. Next time we’ll try out the restaurant. I would definitely recommend the Lighthouse Cottages and we plan to return in the future 😁💕

Great cozy spot on the water

Our cottage was super clean, well appointed and spacious. The view and sunset were spectacular. The kitchen was well equipped. Being so close to the great beaches was wonderful. The lady who checked us in was extremely polite, friendly and informative and gave us great recommendations for dining out. I highly recommend this resort!

It was absolutely perfect! The view, beach and cabin exceeded our expectations! Will definitely go back!

No shampoo provided. No hot water in the evening so could not take the shower. Staff is nice

We arrived around 7:30pm and stayed in an old two bedroom cottage house. All grocery stores and restaurants within 10 miles were closed. The house has very slow wifi, dusty bed, no air conditioner, no shampoo!

The view is incredible. Sitting on the covered patio on comfortable Adirondack chairs enjoying the water view over the softly rounded grass covered dunes is amazing. The cottage was clean and the beds comfortable. I wish the cottage had had a hair dryer and a working microwave. Bath soap was provided but no shampoo. Plenty of coffee filters, but the only coffee policed was instant.

It’s very clean and neat , lots of space, nice kitchen. Great place for money it charged. Loved ocean view from the porch, bbq. It’s true ocean cottage experience.
