I always stay at Novotel whenever I'm flying from/to Porto Alegre and I'm never disappointed. The staff is really polite and helpful, the rooms are comfortable, the shower is very good. I also like their breakfast, but the hot foods are limited (and they serve wieners instead of sausage, a bit weird).
But I love to stay there for a recharge before/after a long flight.

the transfer was awful. the airport is incredibly close to the airport but very difficult to reach on foot due to a big and busy avenue.
the suttle service is less than 5 minutes away and the check in desk employees were very unfriendly when we asked them to collect a group of 4 people saying in the hotel. The answer was "no, you will have to wait for the next one".
No taxi would ride us there becuase it was too close and not worth for them.
Very unwilling check-in desk employees.
