In my experience there is not much around the pousada however we enjoyed the içai place by Vanessa and the restaurant point chic was very friendly cleaned and pleasant

Pousada dos Artistas is a really nice hotel in a quiet neighborhood on the North end of the Island. If you're looking for some separation from the tourist hubs this is a great spot. The hotel is not large but the rooms are nice and airy, especially on the top floor where we stayed. It would be great for an extended stay.
The hotel offers parking so renting a car is recommended - Jurerê is a short drive away and offers a good selection of shops and restaurants. Although the hotel staff were very friendly they didn't speak English so knowledge of a little Portuguese would be helpful here. Breakfast is offered which is simple but decent. I would consider staying here again if I was heading back to Florianopolis.
