Excellent staff and room was clean enough
Only gripe is the paper thin l lead glazed windows ( I’m guessing it’s a listed building)
I could hear people talking and walking on the street 1 floor up
Also very noisy road from 5 am until 11pm ! Tractors and bin Lorrie’s at 5:30am annoying as no soundproof windows or walls

Great hotel for the night. Lovely big comfy bed. Great en-suite clean and large in size. It was a little warm during the night and took a while to work out the aircon but still have a fab sleep. Breakfast in the morning was lovely with amazing coffee and juice.

It was a comfy stay, lots of things around to do. Internet at the hotel is quite limited, around 1-3mbps.

A wonderful place! Great food (the breakfasts and the dinner menu) - and our room was clean, good shower, comfortable bed. Very helpful and friendly staff. Highly recommended for a trip to this interesting and beautiful area.

Stayed for a week, travelling alone. Location brilliant, lees than 5 minutes walk to Cathedral and riverside. Room well equipped and comfortable, with air conditioning that was very welcome. Some road noise, windows are original, single glazed and offer little sound proofing, but road quiet at night and it didnt trouble me. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were excellent, lots of choice, freshly cooked, hot, well presented and delicious. Bar and restaurant very nice, with patio area for drinks and food. Would recommend this hotel for a stay in Ely.

Much better than anticipated! Room was wonderful and the added bonus of aircon on a hot July day was a plus. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Delicious breakfast as well. Would definitely stay here again.

Really was of 'royal' standard! A hotel of really high quality. Well presented, comfortable room with AC. All the amenities, beautiful decor. The pub itself served delicious, fresh food both in the evening and for breakfast. Full English was amazing!! Breakfast is included and there was good variety. Properly home cooked.
Finally, their customer service was excellent. We moved there from another (terrible) accommodation. The owner/pub landlord himself arranged an early check in for us. At reception, staff were all so nice - took our bags up for us, bug smiles at dinner and breakfast and organised quick nibbles for us before we left for wedding we'd come to Ely for.
I would definitely recommend the Royal Standard. Would stay there again if back in Ely. 10/10.

The pub itself served delicious, fresh food both in the evening and for breakfast. Full English was amazing!! Breakfast is included and there was good variety. Properly home cooked.

Lovely building in the city centre full of character. Room was very comfortable and well appointed. Reeeeeally comfy bed ensured a great nights sleep.
Very central to the city, and close to the cathedral.
Staff were wonderful, so friendly and welcoming, and the best part about a wonderful stay :)

We received a warm welcome and were shown to our room. The room proved to be very comfortable with everything you need for a short stay. The mattress was super comfy as were the towels provided. The room did suffer from road noise from early in the morning, however, everything else made up for this. The stay included a free breakfast so our expectations were low. We were surprised to be given a full menu to chose from: full English, salmon etc.. plenty to chose from and delicious. Good value for money.

Friendly staff. Quite, considering it is a pub we never heard a peep from downstairs or other residents. Good location for town but parking can be tricky due to mid-week rule to stop commuters. Great breakfast!

Sweet place but our room really wasn’t clean. The dust on the lamp was thick. The staff was kind and it is definitely cute and quaint!
