We arrived with our six month old son Alexander and used EvaZion as our first stop in two months on the island. We stayed here for four nights and we could not recommend the place highly enough. The rooms are modern, simple yet comfortable and spotlessly clean. I would go as far as to say that this was the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in! All the staff from the owner through to those who clean the rooms were unfailingly friendly and welcoming. They all loved holding and playing with six month old son. He loved it just as much! The food was absolutely wonderful. Simple, proper home cooking. As a vegetarian, they went out of their way to make sure I was catered for and at all times. Staying here gave us a tremendous boost of confidence on finding ourselves in a strange land and I would highly recommend anybody to make this the first stop if they are planning a long vacation.

Friendly staff, room is spacey, clean and quiet. Breakfast is simple but good. Facilities are basic. Good internet!

A very quaint, modern and comfortable facility. Absolutely no complaints about this place. The staff were friendly, the location felt safe, secure and very relaxing. I would have stayed longer if I had not already made other plans!

The hosts were very friendly and made us feel welcome. The room is neat and clean. We took a walk to the river and it was lovely.

Need hire car or taxi as there is nothing within walking distance - no shops, cafes, just a small group of houses and sugar cane fields. Lovely kayak up to the waterfall, about 20 mins each way. Nice small pool to relax at.

They have kayaks you can use for free and take a trip to the waterfall (10 min. in kayak) - with monkeys filling the trees along the river and bats flying over your head. The manager and owner is always around and he and his staff takes such good care of everybody. The breakfast is rather simple by international standards, but fresh and well-made. Every night the also cook a nice local dinner for a very low price (all you can eat for 300 rupees/person incl. a small dessert). The location requires a car, but it is very close to Ile aux Cerf and some of the other great beaches. You can be picked up at the hotel by boot and go directly - just ask the manager.

Nice location to chill for a few days.. Good view from the balcony and relaxing seats to hang out near the river. Not much in the area if you plan on walking around though.

What I did not like is the fact that we were told we were not able to eat inside the room and would have to use the balcony to eat. It would be fine to enjoy the scenery outside but I would expect chairs and tables in the balcony if they are going to put silly policies. Also, the staff lost customer service points when we were getting kicked out of the hotel by 10am when check out is clearly 12pm. We were told there was another person waiting for the room and we only had 10 mins to leave. After talking to the manager, he apologized and tried to cover up for his their mistake by saying it was a misunderstanding.

My only slight dissatisfaction was with the breakfast, which was fairly basic. If you want to go about the island, you have to accept that Deux Freres is somewhat remote. It is an hours drive from the airport and an hour at least to most other places. Local busses run frequently enough along the coast road. Internet was free and reasonably fast.

The hotel can arrange a private boat to go to Ile aux cerfs in a reasonable price. It's a good choice if you would like to stay in bed he east of Mauritius.

The owner shows special interest in customer satisfaction, the staffs are helpful,clean and wonderful place for kayaking along the river to the waterfall.

We had a pleasant stay en very good breakfast and dinner. It was Nancy's birthday on the day of arrival and the owner surprised her with a lovely cake.

EvaZion is on the Grand River East a very picturesque setting. Truly a nature lovers paradise. The hosts Jean-Claude and Franciss and their staff are lovely and will go out of their way to accommodate to your needs. Jean-Claude is very knowledgeable about Mauritius always ready with suggestions of best trips to make. If you appreciate staying at a place that is run from the heart this is it as you feel very much at home and not at an impersonal business hotel.
