Excellent location. Friendly staff. Looks a bit out of date. But don't let that hold you. Great view.

We could not sit outside. (anywhere at your room or at the bar were you could sit (dry) outside would be a big plus).

Fab food. Chicken Tamorindo and trout both superb.

The views are stunning (best sunset), the setting very special and the staff were amazing - helping with guides, booking and advice. Highly recommend.

The breakfasts were OK, could be better. Didn’t have dinner.

Our room had no view! We were shown pictures with a different room when we booked. We were not offered a different room when we complained. Manager didn’t care for our complaint. WiFi is not good. Servers at breakfast acted like they were doing us a favor.

The bed was very comfortable and the grounds were beautiful. We also loved the wood through the rooms and reception area. The food was excellent and the staff was very attentive.

The location was quite far out from the town so it was additional cost to get anywhere.

the rooms are basic and have no air con or heat . it was very cold . our tv and phone didn’t work due to a maintenance issue . the staff were apologetic but not solution focused . The property allows small pets but I wouldn’t say they are overly pet friendly as you can’t actually do anything other than have them with you in your room .

The location is great, the gardens are beautiful and attract beautiful birds.

The windows need screens to cool off the room. days can heat up the room. ceiling fans would be very nice. This is not a boutique hotel. the bedding is very nice but the pillows are not soft. The pool should be heated as Monteverde gets cold. Rooms are covered with wood and should be oiled……it will make them glow and last longer. get better orange juice.

the facilities were a bit old and outdated and need refreshing, the bathroom very basic and oldish, with a moody shower.

The hotel has an excellent location next to wildlife with beautiful views and plenty of animals to see.

Bathroom was moldy. Cleaning was not done properly, e.g. stains in coffee cups, dust etc. Bathtub had plenty of mold (see picture). Swimming pool was only heated on Friday and Saturday, and even then it was used for swimming lessons. Owner needs to decide if he/she wants to run a 'boutique hotel' or a swimming school...

The setting and property were beautiful and the jacuzzi was so nice after a day in the cold rain.

- Amazing view (rooms 1-10): you can see the sunset and the ocean from these rooms - Excellent service in the restaurant all the time but specially Ross and the kitchen staff that adjust with no problem a dish for some food restrictions - Delicious breakfast - The best pillows and mattress (semi firm) - You can see the monkeys in the property during the afternoon - Nice trail inside the property

The cabins were lovely and very clean. The atmosphere felt like being in a ski lodge. Very quiet and relaxing. The pool was nice, remember, there are children, it can be loud, but it was very clean, great towels, the hot tubs were actually HOT, loved it. You don’t often find this! Plus dressing rooms/washrooms were so clean, felt like a club/gym type atmosphere. The pool is not heated, but it did not feel cold considering the outdoor temperatures. The drink menu by the pool was excellent. I recommend the Andretti sour while you lie in one of their lounge chairs at the pool if weather permits. The beds, pillows and bedding were so cozy, slept like a baby, especially with cool temperatures. There is no thermostat in the room so be ready for colder or warmer temperatures. The grounds are clean and you can come across different wildlife if you are quiet and keep your eyes open. There is plenty of parking for those of you who have a vehicle. There is a fridge and coffee maker in the standard rooms, no microwave. There was plenty of hot water which was great. The TV channels are mostly in Spanish, but did not find a lot of time for TV during our stay. The only thing that would have made our stay better would have been robes to wear to and from the pool area. I hope this review helped you.

We loved everything about this hotel. Our room was great. The staff was great. The restaurant and food were great. The desk staff was especially great, organizing all our tours and transportation. It was colder here than we expected so we did not have a chance to use the pool and hot tubs but they were beautiful as were the grounds of this hotel. Its near the entrance to Montverde Park but a little outside of town - which was fine by us. They had a special Valentine's dinner and Super Bowl Party during our stay - nice touches. We loved the restaurant staff (see pictures) The best was the desk staff waving goodbye to us when we left. Would stay here again in a heart beat.

Wifi could be a little stronger but it was good enough for m to participate in a zoom - with only a little disruption.
