Location almost in the middle of Solvang. The pool was okay.

The room was pretty generic 1960s motel. The breakfast was advertised as a "Full English Breakfast", which includes cereal, bacon/ham, sausage, toast, eggs, jam, tea and or coffee and often beans and/or mushrooms. What was actually provided was very generic "danish pastries" like you would get packaged from a cheap grocery, not buttery like proper "danishes" and some small yogurt. The breakfast area itself was about 1/10th the size needed even on our middle of the weekday trip, I can't imagine how crowded it would be on a weekend. When we arrived, a guest was reporting damage done to his car (a Tesla) in the parking lot, he had dashboard video, and the desk person ID'd one of their employee's cars as the one the damage was done by . We complained about the breakfast to the manager who admittedly "Didn't know what a full English Breakfast was, he thought it sounded posh and European when he put it in the listing". We asked him for a partial refund due to the breakfast, since my wife can handle sweets for breakfast and needs protein, and he went on that since we went through Booking.com it would be difficult but could give us 20% off a future stay. We told him to figure out a way. We called back a few times and just gave up. I will say that he did remove "full English Breakfast" from the listing, once we showed him a picture of what a REAL "Full English Breakfast" was. It seems that all over Solvang, they are really confused about the indentity and features of various European countries.

Very clean, nice staff, good pastries, comfortable beds, clean rooms, amazing location, an all around great stay.

We had to leave around 2:30am after the plumbing issues. Started banging loudly at 11pm and progressively got louder and louder til 2:30am when we had enough. Me and another visitor were calling the front desk and no one was answering. I have video and recording of the sounds, of the empty office, of the offering of ear plugs, of checking out and leaving. I want a full refund. We traveled 4hrs to leave at 2:30am. We had asked the elderly lady for an extra night. Her system froze and she said she would have to get back w/us. It was for an extra night and for a dec. booking for 3 days. Ty lord we didn’t book that second night. Because of the plumbing issues. It sounded like some one was hammering on the other side of the walls for hours and hours every minute to every 3min. Today, the hotel message through text. They’re taking care of our refund through booking.com. Ty. But, you need to speak to the man on staff in the front office. Earplugs for our family was not a problem solver. Also, finding out that he made no mention to the owner or manger. No notes. You need to speak to him and ask him why. He has 3 rooms that were walking with him around the property at 2am and earlier about the banging sound.

The broken plumbing and not getting any sleep. Forced to leave because no other rooms were available at different inns. I had to leave before traffic started because it was the safest time being on NO sleep. I had been up since 2am the day before and drove 4.5hrs to get to the hotel. So I was over 24hrs w/out sleep. It would have added 2hrs extra if we left at 7-9am and the banging was just adding so much stress to my kids and service dog.

This is a great location. Right in the center of town. Simple clean decor. Our only disappointment was there were children running in the room above us during the evening, very bothersome. We also had a wedding going on across the street until about 10pm. Very loud at times.

Unless you want to gamble at the casino, or visit a few bars, there is absolutely nothing to do in Solvang after 5pm. Dinner of coarse, but we had trouble getting in without reservations. Better bring a good book.
