Very nice lobby & beautiful on the inside

We were evacuating from a hurricane -the staff made us feel very welcome and they were very nice throughout the day and into the evening very empathetic and accommodating. And I especially loved it that we could bring our dogs! Oh and the food was excellent, very tasty.
I had to wait longer than normal for an available elevator

They were working on the lobby. Mixing cement, I had to cover my No so I wouldn’t inhale the cement powder tha was like a fog. They were drilling, it was so loud I couldn’t here the lady at the desk. I was going Under a ladder to get to the elevator and then there was only one elevator in use because they were remodeling the elevator. 15 minutes pluse for elevator. The staff had crates of food and laundry in the same elevator as guest. They were laying tile in the lobby. It was horrible.

The rooms were so nice and comfortable. Clean and we had a nice view.
The front desk to check in wasn’t so comfortable. It needs more updated things. Looks kinda old and just needs to make it look nicer.

I reserved a king room and paid for it and when I showed up there were no more king rooms and the deposit was 150$ which I didn’t have that much when the price for the night was only 170$ so I had to pay for another night for a deposit.

after 4 days without ac they moved me to other room with nice ac
AC room dont work. Hotel in construction. registration in second floor. I asked for extra night and they charge a lot more that the price they gave me at the counter, when I called back to claim they put me in hold until the call disconnect. I did many times with the same results. At the end decided dont call back and pay $438 for the extra night at not good hotel.

The views were beautiful but the proper is clearly in disrepair and probably by the looks of it in chapter 11. The front desk staff was unprofessional, dare I say racist? I have never been treated so poorly by a team lead behind the front desk as the woman who works there. The front desk staff is clearly untrained but their leader had a perverted sense of power of the guests and it reflects terribly on Holiday Inn as a whole. I stayed at Hyatt for ten days before Holiday Inn and Hyatt’s staff are on a different level than this franchise.
The shower broke the first day and the man who came to fix was polite - efficient - he was able to solve the problem and allow me to shower. The front desk Lead mocked me for a broken shower which I hear is common at this property. The elevator traffic was absurd. No one understood the lobby was on ‘M’ level and it made the guests unsteady and rude. I travel internationally and this is standard practice having the reception on ‘M’.

Paid for a king suite ended up in a queen small room. Top floor of hotel & it stinks. Dogs across hall barking all night Room is nasty unclean, mold in bathroom, AC broke. Staff wouldn't fix the room nor would the hotel reimburse me the difference or refund my money all together. Booking.com told me they will keep in touch & get my reimbursement which did not happen. Also management at the hotel is horrible you are unable to talk to one. I could NEVER stay here again save your money they are over priced.
