This is one of multiple “Best Western” hotels on the same street in Wenatchee. The sign at the street calls it “Best Western Downtown,” not “Chieftain,” making it confusing to find. The front desk staff was inattentive. No elevator, we had to carry heavy bags up and down stairs.

10pm, after a 5 hr drive, front desk first couldn’t find my reservation, then said my reservation wasn’t complete because the note in their computer said they were missing a number on my credit card, so I’d need to pay the full amount. I’d already paid online and showed them proof of payment, along with the booking confirmation from booking.com. The person was trying to text their manager to find out what to do but couldn’t reach them. They gave us the room key but couldn’t “fully check us in” until they spoke to their manager (?). Room was not clean, carpet sticky and stained. And we noticed the room next door was ajar, dark and wide open from the interior hallway through the back sliding door and out to the (shady) parking lot (where a domestic dispute was occurring when we arrived). We informed the staff and they didn’t know why it was open (so unsafe!). ONLY because we were exhausted, we stayed…to be woken up at 3am by someone (with a door key) trying to get into our room. Obviously we started yelling and the person took off. Then the front desk called our room five minutes later, stating “no one is checked into that room” and I had to (half asleep but full of adrenaline) attempt to explain the check-in issue to the person on the phone who couldn’t seem to wrap their head around the fact that we were physically in said room. I finally hung up the phone because it was 3:20am and I was about to lose it. Since then, I’ve reached out multiple times to the hotel, hotel manager and to Best Western Customer Service and have yet to make any progress… I cannot even believe how terrible this experience was and the complete unprofessionalism and lack of care/customer service since the incident.

No elevator, room not the cleanest, shower cap covering fire alarm on wall...Air conditioner blows across bed. No way to make it blow up more.

Nice large, clean room. Liked having two sinks in the bathroom area. Great continental breakfast.
