Great location for the views of the Denali park, but the shuttle service had a weird trajectory which meant it took half an hour to go down the hill into the town.
Rooms were dated, internet was very spotty (pretty much inexistent in the room if further away from the reception area) and on top of everything they charged me double for the room by mistake and it took me a few trips to the reception and several conversations with the staff to ensure I got a refund. Lack of attention to detail at every corner.

The location is awesome with views that will take your breath away. It is convienent to the entrance of the park and to a little "town" but be ready to drive up a winding road to get the amazing view! We liked the property and the rooms were recently renovated and staff was friendly There are refrigerators in the rooms which we didnt expect because it was not listed as an amenity. And there is a toaster in the lobby (so if you want to heat up a breakfast sandwich or something you can!)
We had no TV the entire time we were there (3 nights) and there was a championship game on that our group wanted to watch (even if it was in the bar or our room we just wanted to see it). The breakfast was just a buffet only and probably a bit overpriced for the property and what you got but you can just grab a quick something in the lobby cafe instead. All four of our rooms the hot water ran a little brown for the first few minutes and then was just slightly brown after that. The cold water ran clear :)

Great staff. Amazing views. Loved that boxed lunches were provided for tours. Nice to have shuttle service downtown.
Very limited dining at hotel and prices very high. Rooms are sparse. Didn’t fit price paid.

Beautiful view. Staff were always very helpful. Shuttle service was convenient.
Bed was a little uncomfortable. Room amenities are outdated. Generator running 24/7; no real silence to enjoy.

it was in a superb location just outside Denali National Park with views that took our breath away! The shuttle service around the area was excellent and access to the park was made easy. Staff were very helpful and made sure our short stay was excellent.
Thought the bed was a bit soft but other people would probably like it!

management was MIA for 2 days. desk staff could not make a decision on bridging our room reservation to avoid changing rooms. we stayed 4 nights. For the price per night, the value is not there. No concept of customer service nor accountability when needed to make a decision.

Size of room.
Water problems. Platitudes from location manager....for example, "we had a very difficult winter", "you have to remember, this is Alaska". Poor quality of food at breakfast buffet. Abismal condition of road leading up to lodge as well as mud filled parking lot. If you stay, reserve a room in front of lodge with mountains view. Rooms that face mud-filled rear lot have almost constant tour bus, shuttle, car and motorcycle noise.

Gorgeous Views
I'll start by stating that this is my first negative review for anything on Yelp; but this lodge was so bad, I feel like I have to warn others.
1st: Way, way WAY overpriced. You are literally paying for a Mountain View. This place isn't worth half of the price they charge.
2nd: This construction (or lack thereof) is pathetically cheap. The rooms are motel 6 quality. The walls are paper thin and you can hear EVERYTHING outside, in the hallways, or the rooms around or above you.
3rd: They literally run out of water. They ran out of water both days that we were here. The lobby toilets filled up solid waste like a. Outhouse because you couldn't flush. There isn't plumbed water from a well or centralized treatment facility. It's large tanks, stashed under the buildings that they have to truck in water for each day. They haven't worked out the logistics of avoiding gaps in water availability. I am dumbfounded that a place this expensive can't figure out a way to maintain the water. Be prepared to wash your hands and brush your teeth with bottled water.
4th: The drive up and the parking lot is a muddy and sloppy mess with very limited parking. Plan to hand carry your roller bags or expect to plow mud trenches with your suitcase.
5th: The lodge restaurant is below average in quality, but they think they rate above average prices. I got the most pathetic tray of old sashimi I've ever received. Their chicken was dry and over cooked, and the pasta was just average. Over a hundred bucks for my absolute worst meal in Alaska.
6th. If you come here,...which I don't recommend, bring your earplugs. Besides hearing every single word, conversation, step, and running child in the hallways, "Maintenance" likes to bang on walls, drill holes, and yell across the hall to each other like it was a construction zone at anytime of day.
All and all, the place is trash-ville with a 5 star price tag. Avoid at all cost.

I enjoyed the wonderful view and just sitting outside watching the birds and reading a good book. The shuttle service was great as we explored the area.

They gave us a river-facing room (the best possible view) for just an additional $10.
Amazing staff. They had our bus schedule pulled up already for the Denali Wilderness tour
The road to the hotel is a crazy yet fun drive. Do notice all the funny road signs on the road sides.
Hotel room was clean, easily accessible.
Maybe add a couple of complementary water bottles.
Thanks.

It was a wonderful hotel. They approach was beautiful. The staff was excellent.
The restaurant. It was way over priced. It was limited in its menu and yet they charge a premium in prices. The food wasn’t that good compared to other restaurants.l

View of the valley
We booked a 3-night stay (Sept 2-5) at your property the Grande Denali Lodge, and are currently on site. We are APPALLED at the shabby, outdated rooms that you have the audacity to rent for $1152.71(tax included)! That’s $384.24 per night for a room that appears to have been built in the 1950’s with no comparable update consistent with the lodge. No pictures of the units were available online when booking, only pictures of the lodge. At no time did we ever consider that the rooms would not match the elegance of the of the lodge furnishings for these prices. I have been in nicer roadside fishing motels than this! Motel 6 far outstrips this room for quality, comfort, and INDEED PRICE!
These are only some of the deficiencies we found in our unit:
1. The rug is filthy dirty with a big round stain right in the front entrance as you come in the unit.
2. The double occupancy unit only had one luggage rack
3. There is only a single garbage can in the entire unit.
4. There is only one slightly accessible two plug outlet, so plugging in two C-PAP machines means no clock.
5. There is no heater, only an extremely old wall AC unit.
6. The lighting is abysmal, making the toilet and bedroom areas a serious safety hazard.
7. Your TV has only fuzzy channels, no channels come in with digital clarity——pretty much the standard of expectation for any hotel in this price range.
This booking had been replete with bait-and-switch marketing. This is a potentially quality resort, but at this time it is a shamble and ridiculously overpriced for the resources provided. We encountered some people on our bus who were staying at Carlson’s and they raved about the wonderful and well appointed unit they had which cost them $225 per night! I wish I had gone there. Many tour people we met told us that they heard my same complaints about how shabby and overpriced the accommodations were at the “Grande”.

Ease of parking- for the independent traveler we didn’t have to park away from our room
Very expensive to eat at hotel
