Room appointments a little dated

The attention was excellent and the breakfast very good.

We liked that it was near everything! The inn has a cozy feel and the area was great it was near a gas station so it was convenient to buy some basic needs. The breakfast was also better than most inns we’ve been on. Staff was accommodating and nice.

We stayed on the first floor and there was constant stomps we’ll hear at morning and night. The AC that we had also made weird ratting noises. There was some stains at the bottom of the bed. I think the price was a little bit on the expensive side compared to the surrounding inns/hotels around the area.

Great location, good price and breakfast, great staff, laundry facilities and pool.

Arnold at the front desk when we arrived was outstanding! He was the best part of our stay. Arnold made sure our check-in was smooth, he offered us bottles of water and was very kind and helpful. He made us feel very welcome. Arnold is the BEST thing about this hotel. The location was also very pleasant, we didn't feel unsafe at all. We came for a surf contest at the Oceanside Pier and the location of this hotel is convenient and in a nice, residential area. The toiletries, shampoo, lotions, etc. were also really nice and they offer stuff if you forgot something. We had what we needed, but it's good to offer that for travelers.

The room was large enough and pleasant enough but walking on the floors and carpet with bare feet felt really grimy and dirty. Twice when I got on the bed, I had long black hair stuck to my feet. My hair is white. My husband has short silver hair. I found the floors to be disgusting, they really need to shampoo the carpets and vacuum EVERY DAY. No excuse for filthy floors. The easy chair was not used because it also looked disgusting and filthy. The other main problem was our AC. It blew air on our heads in bed, there was no way to adjust it or turn it off! My husband woke up coughing and called the front desk about it. They said look by the bedside tables for the remote control. After searching the entire room, inside drawers, closet, etc. No remote control. We called the front desk back a few times and they never answered our calls anymore. We ended up putting a beach towel over the whole unit to stop the blowing air. Not good. When we checked out they said 'Oh, sometimes the maids clean the remote controls and forget to replace them." That is unacceptable. The other thing was the pool area. We were there for a surfing contest so we didn't use the pool. The jacuzzi would've been wonderful, but when we checked it out it was green with algae. Also, disgusting and totally not cool. The "free full breakfast" was just okay. They had a good enough selection of bagels and toast, but they ran out of bacon and the eggs were hard and rubbery fried eggs. Potatoes were very good. The price of the room was too much for what you get, but probably costs so much because of the "free breakfast" that someone has to pay for.

Carpet was dirty and smelling bad, ac stoped working , some bulb light was broken if not careful I could be shocked . Wasn’t alternative option when we complained about out issue about the room
